Looking to sell

a highly polished veil iron case
In the veil iron case you see some meshed veil iron mail, a pair of veil iron armbands, a polished veil iron greathelm and a pair of veil iron greaves.

The case is backworn, weighs 2 lbs and holds about 54 lbs.

The armor is 20 lbs, 5x and torso only. Add or subtract the addons as you see fit.

You assess the mail for structural weaknesses and strengths.

Careful examination indicates the veil iron mail has a base strength of 99 and a base durability of 800. You also determine the current integrity of the veil iron mail to be at 100.0%.

Examining the mail closely, it looks like it's masterfully padded against critical blows.

Roundtime: 21 sec.

PM me or send mail to rhys@play.net

I'm getting 79/425 ST/DU for veil-iron torso chain and 84/550 for veil-iron MBP.

Did you get this boosted during the short epoch of strengthening merchants? I would, heh.

LOL, what about first borns, it's somewhat of an investment but at least you can put them to work mowing the yard or something like that in a few years.

Giving the cats away with the GF may not be helping you out though.... It's kinda like offering a bunch of piss and shit that he has to clean up. But hey, some people are into some wierd stuff these days. But if your GF can cook and does chores, that could be a nice offer.

We just had a thread about this, if you wear accessories that have no padding, you get the chest armors padding on your extremities.

You accept testicles? Let me go clean out Kryandos' mouth...

I'd like it more if it wasn't veil iron, veil iron just screams "noob" to me. YMMV.

wearing that much veil iron actually makes you transcend encumbrance.

The set including the box is a robust 32-33 pounds heh.

I think people are losing sight of the true value of this armor. It's a long long term investment. If and when mining comes and all the magic metals become standarized by the mining/forging system, I'm pretty sure veil iron will acquire the properties that are listed on the website, mainly the magic draining or protective bonus. Then this piece of armor is going to be one of the only sets if not the only set of armors walking around with magical protective abilities (possibly a TD bonus/mana draining) ...add the padding and well maybe even Tsin couldn't afford it.

Very wishful thinking. I doubt that happens, and even if it did, there are alot more veil iron armors out there. They aren't common like other metals, but this is by no means a unique metal for armors.

The padding is the best part of the set in my opinion, the rest is just fluff as the game works right now. No breakage, probably won't be. And I don't see them giving all the magical metals their rightful properties.

Donquix
10-04-2007, 01:22 AM
or if they did ever make that an option, i'm guessing they would require the armor lose most (if not all) of it's padding to keep it inline with it's intended power.

There are a lot of things i think they SHOULD automatically fix to be consistent (most notably, things armor that weights more than it should for imflass/vultite), but a bunch of random (more than likely altered by willy nilly GMs back in the day) items gaining auction level abilities isn't something I see them doing.

Must...maintain...balance!
