Inspired by their famous thread and the encouragement of a few friends, I thought I'd post about a little encounter Ranil had with Kyrandos and Cronuss. I won't post the entire log because, well, this went on for multiple hours. Here's a summary of what happened along with some of the highlights:
Ranil went to the town well to defry his mind. I think when he first got there, Kyrandos was stunned, and so he politely asked what was going on. Krissta, Cronuss's girlfriend(?) explained they were pulling pranks on one another. Thinking nothing more of this, he exchanged some pleasant words with her.
A few seconds later, Kyrandos started slapping Ranil and tried to drag him out of the well. This is where it starts getting good. Ranil calmly suggests they go outside the town to discuss this. Kyrandos continues to do his stupid act of pouring milk on Ranil, etc, and Cronuss even casts a spell at him. (He later claims it was spirit barrier. I'm sure.) Eventually, after Ranil has suggested it about 5 times, Kyrandos agrees to join his group. (He claims to 'help him Ranil be a better man - he obviously knew what he was doing). Ranil walks him slowly out of town and kills him. Here's what follows:

Seems to me Cronuss broke a little policy there. Woops! What follows is even better: Kyrandos and Cronuss both telling me they are going to 'report me to the higher powers', blah blah. Claiming I killed both without provocation. I make it very clear to both that if either touches me again, I will gladly removed the offending part of their body. Well, surprise surprise, Kyrandos kisses me and runs.
Of course nothing happens with the 'higher powers', but Cronuss starts running around town casting curse and dispell at me along with one of his little friends (Nyril, maybe?). I eventually get him arrested for it. He cries some more, and both he and Kyrandos start badmouthing Ranil on the amunet, claiming he kills randomly. Well, funny thing there - a good number of people in the landing are friends with Ranil and know that doesn't make much sense. Further, there was more than one person hiding or invis watching the entire thing and they spoke up.
I then see:
*Cronuss just bit the dust!
Ah! How nice. I quickly have a friend send out a familiar and find that he is in vipershrowd. Turns out Kyrandos is going out there to help him. Too bad. Ranil runs out and cuts off his leg:
You swing an ivory-hilted mithril claidhmore at Kyrandos!

... and hit for 113 points of damage!

* Kyrandos drops dead at your feet!
Ahh.. how they cried about that. And then they started in with their famous insult: they called me a victim! ROFL. Kyrandos and Cronuss come back to the well eventually and start in with the touching again. I told them multiple times that if they touched me, cast at me.. anything offensive, really, I would kill them again. Well, apparently pounding sense into them takes longer than most. Kyrandos keeps up, and Cronuss casts another curse or two.
They then go and wait outside of the North gate, making comments to random people that they know I am coming. Well, this gets back to me and I do hate to dissapoint, so I walk out and kill Kyrandos again. Cronuss decides to try to cast a few voids at me once more and fails. I kill him too. Really, don't they learn?
So in the end, they died multiple times, got arrested, and cried a bunch about me being 'too high level' blah blah blah. I.. had a few hours of laughs with some of my friends about it. I guess their little game of annoying people for fun failed a bit. Honestly, had they just stopped at any point, and I made this clear and gave them chances, I wouldn't have killed them anymore. Too bad they couldn't figure that out.
