Resident Evil: Extinction

Lots of action and good jumpy-scary points... but the action was brief and kinda boring after awhile, and the plot was really hollow... the ending was pretty *yawn* and the super-villain was uninspiring.


On a scale of Feh to Bleh, i give it a Meh...

Fun if you saw the first two or played the games... but really not a must see, IMHO... unless, of course, you just want to see Milla Jovovich's nipples jut through her shirt for pretty much the entire movie.

In her defense, she was pregnant during the filming, but C'MON!

It wasn't too bad. Pretty short, as I am getting used to the longer movies at 2 hrs and 3 hrs.. Hour and a half just doesn't seem worth it really.

And Milla Jovovich always has her nipples poking through, pregnancy or not. She doesn't have enough to bother messing with a bra, and her nipples are about as big as her tits...

I thought she was kinda hot when I saw Fifth Element, but now days - especially in these Resident Evil movies, shes kinda ugly. Not the right kind of make up, and her hair is awful. Plus she just doesn't pull off the bad ass female fighter type as far as I am concerned. I think they could have done better with another person.

Compare it to the hair of pretty much ANYONE else in the same movie.

More believable as well. She has got to be one of the skinniest chicks they could find. We are supposed to believe she got super strength from some of those experiments they did.. but she doesn't gain any size?

Which reminds me of the picture that comes up so often in the movie.. Thousands of zombies outside the lil'ol chain link fence with some razor wire on top. Yet that huge press of mindless freaks can't get through?

And then they wind up tearing through car windows, doors etc and getting at people there. So why can they tear apart a vehicle, and not a chain link fence?

That whole make-up-at-the-end-of-the-world thing irritated me too. Like that chick K-Mart. She was the worst offender. Did you see that heavy shit around her eyes? The extremely underused Claire Redfield (wtf is Chris?!) had some make-up on too, although not as bad as the teeny bopper.

The only thing more jarring and irritating than those things was the soft focus lens they used on Milla's face whenever they had to close-up her. Like she needs it? Whatever happened to the gritty realism of post-apocalyptic film, damnit?

...that said, I'll still illegally download it and burn it to DVD. I won't pay, though.

Ha, no no.. Alex is right, I go for the relatively shitty quality, through a combination of laziness and unwillingness to pay. I do generally wait until it's out on DVD somewhere instead of just a cam from the theater, which I hate. Rather than "best," I settle for "good enough." Generally, anyway.
