Have any sorcerers have managed to reach Guildmaster eligibility (125 ranks and one mastered skill)? A friend of mine, Kastrel, is close and wishes to know if any other sorcerers are at/near that benchmark at the moment.

Not me. Mastered illusions and have total of 90 ranks now. I dont know anyone close. I know Kelestra was blowing through ranks but I havent seen her in a week or so so Im guessing she isnt there yet. Glad to hear Kastrel is close he is a good guy.

I'm nearly there. My arduous pharmocology exam today has grinded me to a hault, but I should be there by Sunday, perhaps.

Right, so, I made an account for this specific purpose (Thanks Evarin, for posting last night). I got to 125 last night. I BELIEVE, though I cannot confirm, that I am the first there, which means we need 4 more. Rontuu claimed last night to be 5 ranks away, and you are "nearly there", which should mean we will have 3 by the end of this week. I know Kelestra had a lot of ranks, but I am not aware of anyone else with a significant number.
There is also the question of determining the order in which we are nominated. I had intended that it be in order of whoever reached 125 first, but clearly that favors me (assuming I was the first), so it might not be the fairest method. I would propose a vote between the first 5 eligible, where you cannot vote for yourself. Just my take on it, anyway.

As in all things, this situation is solved by an M:TG rule... FIFO.

*wonders if they've implemented some sort of super title for the first person to master the guild*
(Akin to the Premier Master-at-Arms for the Warrior guild, and whatever the Rogue one is...)

Thanks Evarin, I thought it was fitting.
And what is . . . the M:TG rule?
Roshambo is extremely fair, in that a lot of it comes down to luck, but I think that it is unbefitting of the Sorcerer's guild. I think that if pure work (such as first to 125, highest level, or the most total ranks at the time of nomination) shouldn't earn it, then it should be based on a vote. Which to me implies that the group as a whole decides "who deserves it most", and I think that has far more meaning than roshambo.
Either way, I really can't say it should be decided now, as its not even guaranteed who the 2nd and 3rd will be, and we have no current leads on lucky number 4 and 5, and everyone should be included in the process.
But its something I've given serious thought to. Sorcerers, of all people, are the least likely to "give up" something prestigous like this, and I really, really do not want it to turn into a fight or argument over who gets to be first. It would spoil the experience for me. Obviously, I want to be the first. I worked so hard to get to 125 first so I could claim "firstness". But looking back on that, its not fair. I got very sick when Alchemy came out, and missed a whole week and a half of work and school, so I had more time to put into it than others. So I won't claim first nomination, and I don't think anyone else should claim first nomination. I'd say, we can each suggest why we think we are the most deserving, and then put it to vote. I just hope no one makes a "Survivor Alliance" out of it. That would also spoil the whole experience.

I wish . . . but apparently, its not to be. The fact that it works like that in Platinum, but will not implement it in Prime for a short period of time, really did not make me very happy. Imagine trying to get together the first 5 clerics or empaths . . . thats going to be the worst.

And what is . . . the M:TG rule?First In First Out. It has to do with resolving a series of spells, but clearly the intent was also there to apply to people mastering a guild in a completely different game.
edit: Oh, and it turns out the rule in MTG is LIFO, not FIFO, but I like FIFO better.

I agree, it should be in the order that people completed the ranks. I just think that when a problem arises roshambo(or rock/paper/scissors irl) can solve anything, that and nose goes...

The only reference I've ever heard LIFO and FIFO in are basic computer programming elements. FIFO elements are queues, LIFO elements are stacks, which you pop.

Some of the accountants on this board (Jorddyn?) are going to kick your ass.
