OK, so I got my new computer in today. I load everything up that I will need and transfer all my psinet info over. I download the launcher, then go to start my character and everything goes to shit. When it begins the Launcher update utility I get the message:
Launcher has stoped working:
A problem cause the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
The play.net sight says that I do not have Active X controls.
I am using Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Vista.
I even tried to reboot. Did not work.
Any Help will be appreciated.
Format disclaimer: I did not format this well, don't plan on reformatting.

Yes. I can't use the launcher, SGE, or lich/psinet with UAC on.

Yeah, most Vista users that know how to turn off UAC, leave it off.

If you don't know how, there is this helpful little tool on the start menu. It is called "HELP". Amazing what you can find there. It will even tell you step by step how to turn it off. Amazing.

I don't get what you're trying to prove.

I'm imagining that he took your initial comment in the thread as as a jab at him for being a Vista user who is not "in the know", and thus didn't already have UAC turned off, presumably because he "did not know about it" or "did not know how".
He then decided to respond to what he THOUGHT was a smartass remark with his own smartass remark.
I read your comment as saying "Yeah, most Vista users turn that shit off pronto because it sucks". Which is true.

Kind of, but not really. Was not a jab at Khel at all. It was a bit of sarcasm (which I also think Khel responded with) about changing settings on the computer. Setting changes are easy, with the use of the help button.

Very nice. Would have been better if I had a sister, but still, very nice.

Haha, I didn't intend ANY sarcasm at all in my initial post.

Meant your initial reply. Not your initial post.

Out of curiosity gore, what'd you get (specs), and how are you liking it so far?

Only had it for a few days, but it is great so far. I upgraded to the 2Gig on a suggestion from an IT friend of mine. Vista is not bogging down so far. I get free antivirus from the Army, so when my free subscription runs out through Dell, I will change over to one of them. AAFES has a deal with Dell and I ran the same specs through the straight Dell website and I saved about $300.
