Interesting suggestion for Bards

A friend of mine made an interesting suggestion for bards, mainly that if you get hit at the neck with a rank 2 wound or above that you effectively can't use any bard abilities that require singing. This makes sense to me seeing how if you got your throat cut you're not going to be able to speak much less sing.

There's an electricity crit to the neck that destroys the vocal cords. It doesn't have any cutthroat effects. What I'm saying is: we have magic vocal cords that even when obliterated function completely normally. However, they are -500 to cutthroat, so that (and that alone) can inhibit their use.

But the magical vocal chords are obliterated. Sorcerers have magical hands and and once they're removed they can't effectively use their powers.

I'd go along with this, but only if every person lost their ability to talk with rank 2 neck wounds and the ability to eat or drink anything with rank 3.

My rogue got hit with a sulphur trap... he's effectively a pile of dark red stain on the ground... (except with just 2s on the legs)... My sorcerer animated him and walked him to town.

I've stood up with no legs lately. So I guess they haven't changed it lately. Empaths do it all the time.


So if you get cuts on your neck, you can't sing... What do they get in return? Why limit them now? It DOES make sense, but what's the point after 15 years to change something so minor?

And Empaths too should not be able to do practically anything after healing a desintegrated or vaporized person.
