Aright guys, I know this is a redundant question.

I've been gone for nearly 2 years now.

Have a wizard that I need to reallocate for the new system...no clue what I"m doing.

Any ideas on places to research, etc.?

Here's what he looks like @ 51...

Has 5 reallocations left.

I'd like to setup an enchanting wizard if possible (Or heavy caster). So as I've read runed is probably the way to go weapon wise.

Thanks for the help...sorry for the redundancy.

I don't know much about the staff situation, but there's 300/50 training points you could be using.

Staves suck. Wizards lose about 80 to their DS if they use one. I say stick to 1x shield use, .5x edged. You can still block and parry, and the DS is much higher

I posted my stats in the 'let me pick your brains' topic in this folder. I am doing fine hunting with a staff and zero lores, the extra spell ranks seem to be a viable tradeoff.

I have yet to miss seeing a trap on like-level boxes, with only 24 ranks of perception.

I can skin but not too well, with 1x Survival and .5x FA, it's a lot tougher now.

Two ranks of armor is all you need for full leather, I will not wear anything heavier - I hate spell failure.

If your goal is enchanting wizard, drop the physical skills. All the abilities to enchant are magical skills. Trying to get points to do both is difficult.

Should probably move...
MIU to 2x
HP to 1.5x
I'd keep wizard spells are 1x per level, I'm not sure going over 1x yields any decent bonus but if you throw it in to MnE or MjE it'll help with spell times and other uncapped bonuses.

P.S.

<< I have yet to miss seeing a trap on like-level boxes, with only 24 ranks of perception. >>

That's using 416, and sometimes it takes a second cast - I always cast it a third time if I do not see any trap. Disarming them with 408 is another story. Most trapped boxes I leave to the pros, I just pop the untrapped ones. :D

After doing some ghetto math on your stats, it looks like you're getting just *under* 11 magical skills per training (by my estimate it's about 10.5, including 0 train). From what I heard, you need at least 11 to have the runestaff be very useful. Can anyone clarify with facts?

The GS4 Docs claim you need 9 ranks / level to gain a 1x shield/edged train bonus to DS. :)

Also, Askip? I wanted to point out that First Aid affects skinning more then survival..they switched 'em around ;)

My Wizard gets 11.37x magical ranks per train. Still going sword/shield, though at a much lower amount. Of course, he's only 29 and bolts for a living.

I posted my training already @ lvl 50. It's farther down in the wizard folder, 1x shield, 1x ohe, 14 ranks of CM, etc. I like the way he can hunt right now but I can't enchant a paper bag.

It's 8 magical ranks / level. I know all.

Additional ranks add a 5% bonus each per train.

That's correct, they changed it from 9 to 8.

<< First Aid affects skinning more then survival..they switched 'em around >>

Blast them at Simu, they cannot make up their minds. Is this forever or a bug? :D
