Crazy idea...?

I don't know if I could ever do it... for one thing, I would miss my pure Sorcerer way too much... anyway... but I'm thinking of stuff cause I have a fixskills I can use.

At level 40 I was messing around with the skill goals page.

I reduced all my skills and then built up from scratch.

Basically, the idea is for a pole arm or THW sorcerer.

I was able to train the weapon to max and still have a ton of points left. No need for MIU, SP, AS, etc... since not using runestaff.

I also managed to get 40 sorc ranks, 40 minor elemental ranks, and 30 spirit ranks as well.

My CS would still be fine obviously... so I could still use all my spells. I could ewave stuff and then whack em with my polearm. AS would be pretty good with 40 ranks of elemental and using spell 425... plus theres spell 117... and of course a 4x or better weapon. Could even use a Scythe... how fitting!!

Kind of a goofy idea... but training pole would give you a good weapon, with a decent AS (right?) and still all your awesome sorc spells.

Anyone ever thought of or tried something like this? I would guess that a Wizard would be better for this, though...

Do you have the stats you'll need to swing your weapon of choice without a huge roundtime? That'd be a downside, for me anyhow.

I wasn't aware that stats effected RT... besides strength allowing you to carry more.

I'm a dark elf with 75 strength. (12 bonus)

Put my vote in for crazy idea.

Save 10m for a fixskil potion when you've got this out of your system.

Agility and Dexterity are the two you should worry over, not Strength.

Bad idea in GS4. In 3 it was vaguely doable.

If you forget about your strength stat, there's no sense in trying to swing a weapon though is there? I've never played a sorcerer, but a 75 STR is going to be pretty weak and if you're carrying 3 boxes your RT is going to be nasty. Also, aren't polearms heavy?

If you really want to try this, I'd say wait until just before the next fixskills comes out next year so you can switch it back. Or like Gan said.. waste a bunch of coins and buy a potion.

I didn't say forget about the strength stat. I said reflexes and dexterity will affect his RT.

Your AS would be pretty low, although that can be overcome by removing legs or ewaving. You would lose out on the ability to hunt with 102 on lowering your DS. rt can be overcome by getting a bunch of haste items(anklets or bracelets). Id guess its doable but it wouldnt be easy.

like i said, i dont think i would actually go through with it... but just a crazy idea... ;)
