View Full Version : Lich Repository Question
I was wondering if there is a problem with the lich repository of if it is something on my end. Whenever I start the repository script, it just runs forever with no lists available, no sync available or anything else. I have a couple of scripts I've found useful that I would like to upload, as well as check and see if there are any new ones that I would find useful since my last check.

I have very little free time these days, and I leave the server stuff to Vizy (who hosts the server progs). Just logged in to the server to check, and they're definitely running. The server is definitely responding to requests, as well.
If you aren't using v3.50, try updating; you might have an old copy of the script.
Or try deleting the file "repository.sav" in the "data" subdirectory of wherever you installed Lich to.

I wasn't able to connect to LichNet for the longest time, until I put the (old?) IP address in as the first place to connect to... with that in place, I've been connecting to LichNet every time I log in. I don't know if that would affect the Repository or not, but it might be worth a try...
From the lichnet.lic file:
servers = [ "199.233.98.37",
"lich.sudolife.com",
"entropic.dnsalias.com",
"www.neenerd.net",
]

Any script that uses the "Settings" stuff (like LichNet and the repository scripts do) saves that information in a file named "{scriptname}.sav" -- it used to go into the same directory as the script, but that was short-sighted of me: as if script folders aren't messy enough already... so I altered Lich to instead save it in a devoted "data" directory. By deleting the file(s), you're forcing the script to query your internet provider for the address of the server (at which point it will save it and use the saved value from then on, unless it ever fails, at which point it deletes the saved data itself and starts from scratch).
To make what's turning into a very long story very short, if the script is causing Lich to crash before the script has a chance to notice the connection attempt failed, it won't ever delete the old and not-working address. Deleting the file by hand should fix that.
