Need a new RTS to play

Just finished WC3 again, and decided that I want to give something new a shot. Warhammer 40k looks good, as does the RTS Lord of the Rings games. Anyone played either, or have a different suggestion?

Seriously not sure if MOTW is your boat as it has some strategy play in it as well but pretty damned good game.

I've played both but I think Warhammer 40k + the expansions win. The units are badass and the animations are awesome in that game.

Starcraft still wins for best RTS.

I pee my pants every time I see the SC2 website.

Yeah, I can't wait until SC2. I've played through SC about 5 times now and I want to try something new.

Fair enough. But if you want head to head SC games I'm down for that.

There's a few other people I play with for larger group games if you're interested.

These three'll need a pretty powerful rig to get them to run well, but Command & Conquer 3, Company of Heroes, and Supreme Commander are all good games. C&C 3 is a bit more old school, but that's not exactly a bad thing. Supreme Commander is a lot like Total Annihilation, if you ever played that, multiplied by about ten. Company of Heroes is a WWII game, but it's a whole lot more of a thinking man's game than the other two, but still one that I'd highly recommend.

And here I went and forgot: I don't know right off-hand where to get it, but I saw on Gamespot the other day that the first Command and Conquer game was released for free to download. If you've never played that one, you ought to give it a shot too, especially since it's free.

World in Conflict was just released by Sierra, one of my favorite companies for RTS games. May want to check out the demo for that.
