View Full Version : Mid-Game Training Adjustements

I'm thinking of altering my training some. The bottom line is: post cman changes I basically never activate shadow mastery. It never really seemed to be able to give me an edge in hiding under any circumstances, I was still spotted by the same critters and still hiding from the same ones, the roundtime was the only factor. Plus, dirtkick seems to do ten times as much in terms of a "hide bonus" than smastery ever has. I was considering dropping smastery and just wanted to know the opinions of other rogues here. It just feels taboo. If I did, what would be the best thing to pick up? I was thinking groin kick or sucker punch. Am I reading the "loss of concentration" in groin kick right as causing someone to drop a prepared spell? Also, does anyone know how height affects these cmans (as I'm playing a halfling)? I like dirtkick because it's height independent, not sure about these two. I don't want to be unable to use them on something human-sized.
Being 1x in survival doesn't seem to do a damn thing for me. I can skin more often, but my skins never seem to be worth much, and the quality is rarely good enough for bounty tasks. Also, I still can't forage worth a damn. If I drop that I can get 19 ranks in cman or put them into catching up on lockpicking skills (since I waned off to about 2x to get my cmans up to snuff and get into MBP faster).
Sorry I don't have a copy/paste of my skills... the simu server must be having a problem with it's dial-up lines. Hopefully they will upgrade to ISDN soon.

Personally, I'd definitely drop the survival.
I love the reduced RT from shadow mastery, but I agree that it doesn't help a ton for actual hiding and staying hidden. I went with weapon spec (because I won a coraesine weapon at a merchant a few years ago and don't see myself switching weapons), shadow mastery and cutthroat. Cutthroat I assume would be a problem for a halfling. Which guild skills do you currently have?

Congrats on level 50!
While 50 is mid-level in the game, the halfway mark is 66ish. I just had to give you shit. And you sure do hide well, I see your alts more then I see the one you are speaking of here.
Hope things work out.

You may hide well now... but im doubled in hiding and pyros see me half the time... you may want to consider keeping smastery... at 90 stamina I keep that running just fine during my hunts

It's that 5 minute cooldown that's the bitch.

Hah, thanks Finis... liberal definition of "mid-game." Been guild grinding so that's one less thing to get a hard time about.
These are my guild skills... I am guessing you intended to mention something about cheapshots based on which cmans I've been talking about. As you can see it has a little to be desired of. I've been trying to work up my sweep the most so I can get access to head shots. If the creature is pretty perceptive I usually follow up with a dirtkick and can one-shot them or at least give them enough head trauma to keep them on ice for a while.

I'm thinking I should dump survival, grab 6 ranks of cman to master dirtkick, dump the rest into lockpicking skills and keep smastery for now, who knows... maybe the staff will renig on it and see that it's the most expensive cman for squares and has a ridiculous cooldown (triple base cost). Either that or I'll get my head out of the clouds. I have 100 stamina but I pretty much need to keep surge up most of the time if I intend to pick up loot.
