True enough. I see the Saints having a pretty damn good year after that though. They may well be getting a bunch of my picks throughout the year.

Btwly speaking...I still love that woman in your sig.

Sean
09-07-2007, 12:19 PM
I'm not gonna write off the saints but that was a pretty piss poor representation last night. Sure the game was tied at the half but what did the offense show against what was supposed to be a porous Colts D? The D didn't exactly shut down the Colts O either. Addai ran at will, Peyton while not stellar still finished around 50% completions with a TD, etc.

Old Drew had a decent game didn't he? I didn't get to watch every play being busy with work stuff. But he threw for right around 200 yards or so I thought. No clue as to what Deuce and Bush did though...

Sean
09-07-2007, 01:03 PM
Most of that was garbage time stat padding in the 4th quarter.

RichardCranium
09-07-2007, 02:22 PM
Brees did okay. There were a godawful amount of checkdown passes though.
McAllister had 10 rushes for 38 yards. Reggie Bush had 12 for 38. Bush is gonna give me an anurysm before the season is through though. His style of running his bullshit.

Solkern
09-07-2007, 10:47 PM
Bree did shitty

he completed like 28-40
for a shitty 200 yards and 2 picks
manning did 18-30 or something for almost 300

I'll expect the Saints to do well based on Thursday's game.

Im pretty bitter about the Eagles loss right now. That was a very sad game for our special teams. JR Reeds botched catch I can *sort* of understand as he had no reps in special teams while with the giants and it wasnt really part of his plans. Greg Lewis botching 2 is just unexcusable. Hes been taking reps all preseason and back into training camp. At least our D was able to stop the sad GB rushing attack.

First week is always hardest to predict but Oakland and St Louis really disappointed me. Other than that I'm pretty happy.

TheEschaton
09-09-2007, 10:17 PM
I don't know if you read that article, but we lost 4 players, 3 of them defensive starts. We had one knee injury....one broken arm to our starting safety, one broken ankle to our starting cornerback......oh, and our 2nd TE BROKE HIS FUCKING NECK.

I'm a Bills fan and picked Denver. Bills kept it much closer than I anticipated with some serious fucking set backs. Good game none the less.

Yea Eagles fan here too. Was surprised I got the game here, usually I don't. Saddest part is that the biggest controversy for the team was over the defense after cutting Trotter. Yet the Packers only scored 3 on an actual offensive drive I believe. That whole defense uneasiness overshadowed them cutting Bloom, who got almost all the reps at returning during PS.

It's like they waited to just before the game, picked GLewis and told him "oh by the way, return the punts." And the Reed one I saw as just as bad, since it should be pretty obvious to a pro player that if there's 4 guys right there and you have to dive for the ball while fair catch signalling you'd be better off letting it bounce. Especially seeing your teammate that you just replaced GOT replaced for doing the exact same thing and costing the team 7 points.

Since Lito got hurt today it's hard to tell what they'll do to get ready for next week. Pretty much a tossup between them using Westbrook or actually going to waivers (Lot of fans want Reno "fair catch" Mahe back). I doubt they'd try to get Bloom back, as that would be a pretty obvious admission of AR/FO that they seriously messed up.

Anebriated
09-09-2007, 11:03 PM
Honestly I think JR Reed can handle the return load. We drafted him 2 years back to be a return specialist. He was phenomenal until he got injured middle of the year. When he was healthy he came with the 100% healthy questions and Andy Reid let him go in favor of his new draftee, Jeremy Bloom. Bloom went to IR and Mahe was given the job. Kind of a shitty situation but I think it can be dealt with.

On another note I dont really feel that Bloom did that poorly in the preseason. What hurt him the most was our putting all of the rookies in there to block for him on ST to see what they were made of and if they were worth keeping on the team. He had next to no blocking throughout the preseason games and ended up getting injured again at which point Andy just said his goodbyes.

11-3: RichardCranium
10-3: Peam
10-4: Latrinsorm, Anebriated, Alfster, Sergey, Sean2
9-4: Atlanteax
9-5: Celephais, Apathy, Gallows, Stunseed, Silvanostar, Bisco
8-6: Tsa`ah, Eschaton (promptly dq-ed for picking the Cowboys whom he allegedly hates), Solkern, Ardwen, Drinin
7-7: Ilvane, Ignot, Drew, Sean
6-8: Augie
5-9 (and not quite winning): Snapp, Bob

Given that this one looks to be going down to the wire (everyone 10-4 or better is still in it), I think it prudent to review the tiebreaker rule from last year: in the event of a tie, the winner is decided by whoever's tiebreaker is closest to the combined score without going over. http://forum.gsplayers.com/showpost.php?p=530365&postcount=66

Bah how the hell is Peam in second...he didn't pick a game! I'm calling shennanigans...or something. He's second by % points. The week winner is determined by total # of wins, then tiebreaker (% irrelevant). That's why Daniel didn't win every week he put "Bears." as his picks post and they won.

Also, Xyelin's tiebreaker is 45, not 42. I would find it very amusing for the combined score to end up being 5 points or something.
