Gemstone and Vista

Anyone have any tips to get past the launcher initiation and successfully download wizard or SF?

I go through the website, click on the character and go play, it initiates the launcher, then the error window pops up saying it couldnt get launcher to initiate and the download stops.

Going to reinstall everything later.
