Yes you can. You can transfer characters from one account to another provided the surname of the owner of both accounts is the same.

well long story short, i broke it off with my boyfriend and i pay for the accounts put he has them under his name (he started playing first) and while my characters are on a seperate account, he can get into it. So i was wondering if i could split them so he cant mess with my stuff, or if i have to start all over.

Just develop a permanent paralysis of your legs that keeps you wheelchair-bound and make sure to drink lots of water and he'll be all over you like a fat kid on a cookie.

So yes, just start a new account. Make sure the surname on the new account is the same and then you can transfer characters across accounts and servers if you so wish. I assume you have the answer to any secret question on the shared account?

She didn't piss in the wheelchair. The bitch pissed in my front seat.. I should have just tossed her ass on her lawn and left. I know you're thinking to yourself "what a mean thing to say".

The way I look at it the morning sprinklers would have hosed her off so I would have been doing her a favor.
