If any of you are awake right now, you ought to go check out the moon. I was just out taking a walk and, here in Eastern Washington, you can actually see the whole visible color spectrum surrounding the moon. Red, orange, and yellow on the eastern side, green, a beautiful shade of blue, and violet on the western. I've never seen anything like it in my life. I wonder what ancient people would make of something like this.
Off to do some more moon watching!

I'm in western Washington and the moon looks normal from here. Going to check again in a while. If I can stay awake.

It's just starting here on the west coast FL for those that are interested.

Didn't know about this, ended up watching it while I was on the treadmill - ie, not watching it at all despite it being right in front of my face, because I felt like I was about to die.
