Since I believe they will never find out who he/she/they really were, it's sort of pointless to ask 'whodunit'?

Read an interesting book recently about it by Patricia Cromwell. She seems to have found evidence pointing to Walter Sickert, an artist of the area.

And much of the 'evidence' she found certainly makes me believe it was him.

"Portrait of a Killer" is the name, and it's very interesting.

Yeah... he does sound like he at least knew more about it than anyone. If you read 'The Royal Conspiracy' on that page he is in it also. I haven't read about every suspect... I am by no means an expert on this.
