View Full Version : Scrumples vs. Michaelous 2

Fatali

Michaelous. Everyone knows him. Everyone knows how he duels - If you don't, he's always heavily spelled up from others and uses tons of imbeddibles, including haste and blue crystals, etc. Then claims he won because warriors are better. Blah.

I finally convinced him to duel me as just a warrior, no imbeddibles, no spells from others, and in return I'd do the same - as just a paladin. While discussing this, some idiot (Who I'm now friends with, lol) did the following...

Jherik mutters whinin-frickin-.
>
>l jher
You see Jherik.
He appears to be a Human.
He is taller than average and appears to be very young. He has piercing pale grey eyes and tanned skin. He has shoulder length, straight black hair worn in a ponytail. He has a broad face, a straight nose and broad shoulders.
He is in good shape.
He is holding a main gauche in his left hand.
He is wearing a visored helm, a leather sheath, a crystal amulet, a blackworked white linen pouch, a polished black leather pack, a pair of square-toed shoes, a pair of satin-paned breeches, and a set of closely-laced leathers.
>
>1615 jher
Voodoo '1615 jher' to 'PREPARE 1615', 'CAST AT jher'.
You motion forcefully as you confidently call on your patron in the invocation for Divine Strike...
Your spell is ready.
>
You gesture at Jherik.
A pillar of dusky silver radiance manifests around Jherik.
CS: +270 - TD: +16 + CvA: +18 + d100: +57 == +329
Warding failed!
Waves of sacred energy tear through Jherik's body!
... 112 points of damage!

* Jherik drops dead at your feet!

A nearby townsman hurries off screaming, "Scrumples has committed murder!"

A small human child cries out, "Murder!". His mother then sends him off for the town constable.

Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.
>'silence
* Jherik just bit the dust!
>
You squeakily say, "Silence."
>glance jher
You glance at Jherik.

Anyway, on to the duel. Michaelous and just Michaelous. His own abilities (And no, his ability to rub something doesn't count as his own abilities). My own abilities.

>
You see Michaelous.
He appears to be a Giant of the Grot'karesh Clan.
He is average height and appears to be young and robust. He has long-lashed brown eyes and bronze skin. He has short, wavy black hair with lighter streaks. He has an unshaven face, a classical nose and a broad chest.
He has a sultry faerie tattoo on his neck, and a tattooed symbol of Sheru on his finger.
He is in good shape.
He is holding a ruby-hilted blue vultite claidhmore in his right hand.
He is wearing a ruby amulet, some engraved invar armguards, a simple brass ring, a silver-edged ash knife case, a mantled invar-plated helm with a single ruby tear on the cheek, a crimson glaes armband, a suit of krodera full plate embossed with an unholy symbol of Sheru, a small emerald earring, a tiny vial of quicksilver on a thin silver chain, a latten-edged invar gorget, a floor-length suede longcoat fastened across the front with iron-buckled straps, a dark bronze cockroach pin, a Sheru crest, a mutilated upside-down symbol of Liabo, a red Ivas symbol, some black suspenders portraying posing women along the wide straps, a gigantic steel belt buckle engraved with the image of a laughing jackal skull, a tiny black glaes spider, a steel-buckled black weapon harness, a moldy leather pack awkwardly stitched together with sheruvian harbringer hair, a simple silver wristchain, a square steel-buckled pouch, some shiny black leather pants with an iron buckled strap around the left thigh, some studded invar shin guards, some black steel-plated boots, a wide mithril belt, a dull gold ring, and a jet black sack.

Spell 507 - Elemental Deflection (DEFLECT) [AID #187]
Circle: Major Elemental

Duration: 10 minutes, plus 15 seconds per spell rank (Stackable).

Effect:
This spell may not be cast on others.
Type: Defense

Since it is not always possible to carry a shield, this self-cast spell can be a blessing. Elemental Deflection provides a bonus of +20 Defense Strength (Melee, Ranged, and Bolt DS), +1 for every 2 Major Elemental spells known over 507.

The increase bonus results in an increased mana cost. The base mana cost is 7, +1 for every 3 bonus.

Notes:
Overtraining in Major Elemental spell ranks does not yield additional bonus past the caster's level.

[=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=]
Spell 508 - Elemental Bias (ELEMBIAS) [AID #188]
Circle: Major Elemental

Duration: 10 minutes, plus 30 seconds per spell rank (Stackable).

Effect:
This spell may not be cast on others.
Because Elemental Deflection offers limited spell defense, this self-cast spell can provide excellent additional protection. It works like Elemental Deflection by creating an invisible minor shield around the caster, but this one works against magical attack spells by adding +20 to elemental warding defense.

What was the level difference?

Fatali
08-22-2007, 07:59 PM
I think I'm about 10 levels or so above Michaelous. But hey, he 'pwns' everyone and is so superior. I think his expensive gear make up for the level difference. Not the warrior/paladin difference, though.

And before anyone comments on all my scripts.. I've used the .k and .1's and such since the beginning of the Wizard FE, so it's just a habbit. And it's also nice, when I MA, to just hit .k on one char, and when he's out of RT he'll automatically swing while I'm monitoring the other char.

I think you got lucky he missed his stance

Lucky? He rolled an 18. Later, he rolled a 42, and only gave me a 1 rd stun. Had he hit me, it wouldn't have done much and I woulda just beseeched and that was it. It wouldn't have changed the fight at all. And who said he missed his stance? He coulda thought I had already stanced back, and was just checking to see what I was in or trying to lure me into attacking him all out the next swing to lure me into offensive. Not uncommon. The same "lucky" statement could be made for him parrying my attack when he was in offensive, or my 1615 not working because of hindrance, etc. There is no "lucky", that's just the way it happens.

Yeah, 10 levels and basically a Stance D, 1615 approach. Nice. You are the best EVAR.

If he was your age, he could have stanced you via warcries or feint. Hamstringing him to "own abilities" when all you have to do is sit in defensive and cast 1615 isn't really a PWNing.

Alot of people bitch about folks using outside spells. So what. Even so, why the fuck couldnt he even use a blue crystal? A Paladin is a warrior that can use spells. Even with that slight advantage AND 10 levels on Michaelous you could barely beat him.

Hope you saved your fixskills because judging from this log, I can gaurantee you he's gonna hand you your ass a few times.

Is Fatali that retard Jenovadeath?

I'm a bit boggled that anyone brags about PvP wins in a game that makes absolutely zero effort to balance PvP. Whoever gets the first cast wins...period. There are rare occasions where skill or tactics play a part, but for the most part, it's just a game of broken mechanics once PvP starts.

You apparently missed the point of the thread.. Michaelous claims he's superior because he's a warrior, in realitiy it's because he uses many abilities that a warrior doesn't have. I was trying to show him it's not just because he's a warrior that he wins in duels against higher level people.

As far as bad tactics.. shit, I was fighting a warrior 10 trains under me, I didn't HAVE to try hard or do anything special. That was the entire point of the duel.

And, telling me I should fixskills? Tell me, how do you suggest I change my training:

Armor Use..........................| 220 120
Combat Maneuvers...................| 230 130
Polearm Weapons....................| 230 130
Multi Opponent Combat..............| 25 5
Physical Fitness...................| 165 65
Dodging............................| 165 65
Harness Power......................| 150 50
Spirit Mana Control................| 25 5
Spiritual Lore - Summoning.........| 50 10
Perception.........................| 90 20
Climbing...........................| 105 25
Swimming...........................| 105 25

Spell Lists
Minor Spirit.......................| 7

Spell Lists
Paladin............................| 35

I never went around sayin I was the best 'EVAR' or was an awesome dueler, etc. Once again, that wasn't the point of the thread.

If you take first place in the special olympics, you're still retarded.

What level is that Pali? 63?

Just curious. Looks to be the same level as Finiswolf. If so, I will have to compare notes. :)

Grats on sucking, though. You are both horrible.

...Shut up, you thundering fuck. No one wants to hear your naive utterances. It's obvious you couldn't handle the mechanics in Gemstone and were forced to quit. Good job.

What is it if you place last then?
