if I had a ton of cash, I'd buy every coin for sale at 12 per mil and jack up the market :)

The problem with this is that there is so much more coin that could be for sale. As soon as you started getting 16 per the market gets flooded and now you have a huge stock of coin that you have to sell for less or the same than you paid for it.
