He was likely asking if it had been converted yet... so is it "medium" or "small'.

That or he was asking to see if it was "Crafted out of rolaren" or if it was just an alter, but I doubt that and it's likely the first case.

The shield is actually something I have had since Gemstone III. I recently reentered the lands and had it on my character.
The targe in question is, as far as I know, an unconverted medium shield.
It was a rolaren shield that was enchanted by a wizard to 5x while still in Gemstone III.
The shield was bought from a merchant, not crafted, as crafting did not yet exist when I purchased the shield.

Thanks.

Sorry, by "crafted" I meant the messaging they give that tells you the base material (inspect/assess, whatever it is)... because it's possible to have an item that says it's a "rolaren shield" when it's actually just altered steel.

You carefully inspect your spiked rolaren targe.

Your careful inspection of a golvern-bound spiked rolaren targe allows you to conclude that it is a medium shield that protects the bearer if carried in the left hand.

You determine that you could wear the targe, slinging it across your shoulders and back.

It looks like this item has been mainly crafted out of rolaren.

You assess the targe for structural weaknesses and strengths.

Careful examination indicates the spiked rolaren targe has a base strength of 45 and a base durability of 155. You also determine the current integrity of the spiked rolaren targe to be at 100.0%.
You examine the targe closely and you don't note anything.

That forging is wrong on the shield. Rolaren should be stronger, if you want to go through the hassle of making a GM fix it.

They currently won't fix it since their is no breakage system on the horizon. They were tweaking/fixing some items at first years ago but they stopped unless its got numbers like 0/0.

<<It was a rolaren shield that was enchanted by a wizard to 5x while still in Gemstone III.>>

No it wasn't. That's a common shield, and they were all 5x.

Really? That's news to me. It has an enchanters mark on it, and the person whom I purchased it from years ago told me it had been enchanted by a wizard. My apologies for incorrect item history.

I think some naturally enchanted stuff started displaying the mark as well after the changeover, but I could be wrong. I was gone seven years.

Pretty sure it has to do with the fact that Rolaren is naturally 4x, but off the shelf these shields were 5x, so when they added the marks in the time period you mention it was just a across the board "higher than natural"... I think.
