SGE issues

Just installed Trend antivirus onto my system (kicked Norton to the curb) and now my SGE hangs up when I move past the logon screen (like something's keeping it from connecting to SIMU). I have to eventually end the process through the task manager. (using an xp box)

Any thoughts on why this is happening? Is it a compatability issue between Trend and the SGE?

I can access the game normally through the website, so my Wizard FE works fine, its just the SGE thats locking up.

If Trend has a firewall that blocks specific programs (like Norton's), you will probably have to manually go in and allow the SGE.

Or you should delete SGE and install WoW.

I have it installed (WoW) I'm just about 6 months behind on updates. :spaz:

When that has happened to us Gan, we simply uninstall and reinstall.

I have uninstalled psinet and sge still refused to load.

I have since uninstalled/reinstalled sge and wizard. No success.

SGE simply refuses to load past the logon screen. I even attempted alternate options like 'go to forums' and it automatically pulls up the error window. Details of the error show that there is an application incompatibility somewhere. Thats about all I can understand from the error details that want to be sent to microsoft.

So for now, I just log in through the website and use the game without psinet.

Make sure port 7900 is open, that's the one the SGE uses. You can also open up ports 5535 and 4900 for the launcher/wizard.

And if anyone can tell me how to get rid of the bolded/blurry text, I would be appreciative.
