What's better for a thrown/shield character in terms of DS? I can't pull up Krakiipedia for some reason so can't see the formulas.

1x-1.5x brawl or the same in OHE (throws a handaxe)?

She throws from hiding usually right now.

without putting too much thought into it, i would say OHE. heres the reasoning

if you are getting READY to hurl, you are likely in defensive w/ the weapon out and at the ready (OHE skill)

when your hand is empty, you have just hurled and are thus in RT, and most likely in offensive stance (little to no parry benefit)

then, of course, you can hope to one day own a returner :)

What class is your character that you're only 1.5xing a weapon skill?

Having just done this with my rogue that hurls from the open (was in OHE, now switched to brawl via fixskill), I'd say brawling. You're more likely to not have a weapon in your hands than to have a weapon in your hands.

Depends on style you want to do. I've done OHE/Blunt road and I've done brawling.

Also depends if you find yourself getting caught in the open more?

Brawling is a great choice, but with thrown, I'll be honest, you have more benefit using OHE when thrown sucks ass for you.

She's a ranger, and as we all know, ranger skill costs suck balls. To be honest, she very rarely gets caught out from hiding. It's more of a preventive measure, as of now, than a reactive one.

Basically, I guess, is my DS in Offensive going to benefit more holding a 4x handaxe with 1x-1.5x in OHE before I throw, or 1x-1.5x in brawl openhanded for the 4rt after I throw?

I'm hesitant to do brawl, simply because she's not in Voln. I'm not to worried about thrown getting sucky, mainly because this is a secondary character and not one I'm worried about capping.

Unless things have changed or I'm misunderstanding you, your DS in offensive isn't going to benefit from any type of weapon.

EDIT: Did that Sexela thing in your sig really happen?

Er. Aren't I going to get some of my weapon skill as DS when I hold the weapon in my hand?

And yes, a recently rolled up guy had Sexela for a sprite.

Yea, you will be granted parry and some parry DS in offensive with brawling.

You get 20% parry DS in stance offensive. It used to be 0% in III.
