In stores today. Who is going to pick it up?

I've been much less attentive to Madden in the last couple years. I bought 2007 in like December when it dropped in price.

Anyone really pumped about some new special features that I don't know about?

The past 3 Maddens sucked really bad, but according to comments in sites like gamespot, it looks like this one's gonna be really good.

Kind of funny how that happened once somebody figured out how to start competing with them again.

Madden 95 is still my all time favorite madden game

Whichever year has the ambulance drive onto the field and run over everyone when a player gets injured is the all time best Madden game.

thought that was tecmo bowl. but I do remember that.

Anything is an improvement over `07. I still play 2005 because the last two suck so hard.

I liked the last few maddens I enjoy the superstar mode. My biggest gripe was that they gutted the game for the PS3 to launch it so it didn't have any owner modes/fantasy draft/etc. as long as this years version is a complete game I'll be happy.

I have a friend who works for EA, so I'll get mine at half price this weekend. I loved 05, and tolerated 06.. but 07 I've barely played. Same ol', same ol'.

Loved '04. Great music and career mode. '05 hit stick. '06 QB vision which I don't use. '07 played for 1 week and forgot I owned the game.

I'm more of an NCAA guy, I may buy last years Madden or something.

Thank fucking Christ, they got rid of the bullshit character creation process for Hall of Fame mode. They give you a pool of points to choose attributes and different attributes incur different costs. For a QB, it's only 5 points for Break Tackle, for example, but 40 points for Throw Accuracy.

My friend works for EA and is coming down for a visit in a couple of days. What does this mean? It means I'm getting a copy of Madden for 30 bucks, woot.

How is this game, then? Is it out for all systems?

<<What does this mean? It means I'm getting a copy of Madden for 30 bucks, woot.>>

I liked my copy for $0, personally.

<<How is this game, then?>>

Pretty damn good. There are new icons to show people's strengths on the field and you can spotlight someone on the offensive line if you're on defense to have your team pay more attention to them.

If this is true its a pretty good change. I'd always just cycle until I got a HOF parent at the position I wanted to play and then it'd gen insane stats for me. I'd have much better stats than the 1st round picks but still get picked in the 3rd round.

God damn it. NCAA 2008, for all intensive purposes, is everything NCAA 2007 should have been?.. until of course, you decide to have a mobile QB and run the option. Or say? play as Arkansas, and Line up McFadden at QB?. Go online, and 99% of the high ranked players are doing this.

Legend Mode, vs 2006 All American Team.

McFadden rushes 34 times for 261 yards.
Backup RB rushes 14 times for 191 yards.

Legend Mode vs USC All time Team

McFadden rushes 27 times for 288 yards.
Backup RB rushes 23 times for 206 yards.

They need to stop making the triple option EZ mode. Even the fullback was averaging about 5 yards a pop. That is with running the same play every single time. Triple Option out of the ACE Big Set, Tight End motion Left.

The concept of a QB reliably stiff arming a defensive end ? retarded

I fucking hate when the computer runs non stop options in NCAA. Lame ass teams like Navy do this.

Eh, its easy to stop the computer from running options effectively. Use the nickel, blitz the corners, line the linemen out, control the weak side DT, move him over center (into a nose position), and have him swim strongside off the snap. Dead option. The speed option is a bit tougher to get around our of the 4 receiver sets, because you usually wont see em coming. It?s when a human is running an option, it?s a pain. Computer AI isn?t nearly as effective breaking tackles, faking pitches, and in general juke-spamming at the end for the extra 2-3 yards. In 06 it was tolerable, because none of the QB?s had a 90 carry rating, so every retard who used Texas, just let him get his yards and keep hitting the black button stick when hitting him. Guaranteed fumble every 5-6 runs if they use constant jukes. The problem is McFadden has decent passing numbers too, and a very high break tackle/carry. He is impossible to stop as an option QB, he doesn?t fumble. For teams that used USC and tried the crap with Reggie Bush/Lendale White/different playbook, you could just counter it by lining up in field goal block, or in a punt return formation and stuff it. McFadden can actually pass too.

I'm about to install Madden on my PC. I've got my Xbox 360's gamepad hooked up, too -- here's hoping it works.

It's way better, give in to the revolution. Progress is great, otherwise we'd still be using the Intellivision controller.

Well. I get no controller love, at least from my 360 controllers -- they're wireless and unsupported, even though I have the play'n charge kit.

Back to the old controller-s ghetto pad splice job.

Game plays.. well, like last year's madden. I thought the graphics would look better, too. I mean it looks fine at 1680x1050x32, just not as nice as I expected.

IMO the controller-s for the original Xbox and the 360's controller are the best I've ever used. I never liked the dualshock design.. I dig pressure sensitive triggers, too, especially in racing games.

And I dig Demonoid. <3

Word, DualShock is a digital design in an analog era. The main stick is in the secondary position and the triggers they've added to DualShock3 don't compare to the xbox one at all.

In all the side-by-side videos PS3 looks washed out compared to 360 on almost every game, I saw an explanation for it but I don't recall what it is.

I like 08 but nothing really new here. The weapon system is alright and it's easier to manage match ups. I like the draft/scouting in the older maddens with the workouts and everything.

First game of the franchise and Trent Green and Joey Porter both go out on career ending injuries.....Go Dolphins
