So I loaded up Tsoran's document to plan my character. He's currently level 8 and I've check, rechecked, triple checked and done it all over again. All of my stats and skill placements are accurate.

The reason I'm using the spreadsheet is to see what I can spend my spare points on.

I have (20/33) spare points in game, but the spreadsheet says 75/72.

Am I missing something or is Tsoran's spreadsheet inaccurate? Would anybody care to check?

Tsoran's SS has been wrong for quite awhile

Are you interlevel or just at level? I was having a similar confusion until i realized that it didn't add in interlevel TPs to the leftovers. But if you look up at the upper left it does calc how many interlevel TPs you have you just have to do the math manually.

Sorry I don't quite understand what you mean. I'm a returning player. I last playing in Gemstone 3 with the typical training every "birthday". I'm still not used to this new system.

The reason I wanted to chart this was because I wasn't sure how to plan my character's development because I didn't know how many points I would have to spend on extra skills.

As you gain EXP between levels you now get TPs that you can use to train instead of just at level.

But reading back to your inital post you can ignore what I said because that'd only be the case if you had more TPs than it was saying you had. Are you using the most recent version?

I just downloaded so it should be the most recent version.

post a copy and paste of your actual skill ranks?

I want to find out how many extra points I get per level to figure out exactly what skills I can increase per level. For example, if I wanted to increase my picking&disarming, exactly how much do I have to spend on it? Can I get 2.5x, 2.75x, etc? Here it is:

Adds up more or less for me. If you put in the actual # of skills you have instead of just putting 1s and 2s across the board you end up with 19/32 and then +1/1 for your interlevel TPs that you've earned is 20/33

I'm confused. Am I entering in my rank information wrong into the spreadsheet? If so how am I supposed to enter it in?

just double the #'s at level 8. Instead of 2 ranks of edge for example put in 4 so that you have 20 ranks. (9 x 2 = 18 + 2 for interlevel = 20 ranks)

It depends on where you are putting the numbers. Make sure you put them in the right column.

oh I see... I entered the skill info exactly as I am at my level, and it showed up correctly. Now I get it. However, so I had to put 4 ranks for 2x at level 0. I don't remember doing that but maybe I did and got confused because I was learning this new system. I haven't seriously trained a character since my old rogue in GS3.

I haven't actually had a problem with the Spreadsheet personally. What I can train on that an ingame is almost always insync give or take a few skill points here or there. You just have to be wary of intralevel ranks. They cost you more during intralevel training and get rebated when you level.

Theres some goofy stuff in the non trainer areas like no RTs under 5 seconds. But under the trainer tab my TPs always add up for my chars.

Tsoran's SS isn't necessairly wrong, it's just still based off how GS3 did things - you got training points, you spent them...

in GS4, it pushes all your training toward your current level as much as possible so even if you trained in only 4 spells total and you got them at level 12, 15, 18, and 20... at level 20 the calculation figures you got them at 17,18,19, and 20, thus freeing up points as much as possible.

Tsoran's sheet doesn't figure this out, so planning for the future in Tsorans doesn't work properly. Working with current data works fine. Basically instead of doing this:

Edged Weapons level 0, 1 train, level 1, 1 train, level 2, 1 train, level 3, 1 train...

It should show the total # of trains for that level and do the math for each level on TPs remaining:
Edged Weapons level 0, 1 train, level 1, 2 train, level 2, 3 train, level 3, 4 train...

That way you could plan for the future properly in that SS. I was thinking about editing it to work properly, but truth be told I don't have time and if I'm working on anything soon it'll be a Picking helper for rogues in Stormfront (it'll be pretty cool if I ever get around to screwing with it).

If you don't know what level a character is, it's impossible to figure out which ranks cost what.
