I have played this off and on kind of like Gemstone, and I was wondering if anyone around here had some quality cards they would like to get rid of cheaply.
If so, just send me a PM.
I can do cash through paypal, or trades for gemstone stuff.
Thanks

Actually the art on those cards rocks, it just looked like too much hassle to learn new rules to shit, plus I'd have to invest more money into some damn soul stealing game.

Eh, no worse than any other game anyone plays.
I find it to be a lot more entertaining than poker of late. Not many people around here to play though so it kinda sucks. I gotta travel to neighboring cities or something to play in real tournaments. Not sure if I want to.

If only you posted this a week ago; I just got rid of thousands of cards.
I didn't want to go through the hassel of selling them so I picked out the duals, moxes, and the lotus. Then I took the remaining cards to the game theory club at the local campus, threw the box down on the table, stepped away while saying free Magic cards from Unlimited and on, and watched as nerds of all ages ruthelessly shoved and pushed each other out of the way to get at any good cards remaining.
It was awesome, but the video on my phone didn't turn out. :(

free cards, that was nuts...
so you still have the duals, moxs and lotus? are you selling them?

Already sold them to a friend. Most of my good cards were in awful condition because I never used sleeves.
i sry. :(
I really only play sealed/draft every once in a while, so the old cards weren't much good to me. I like drafting because it levels the playing field a bit and forces you to use more strategy in selecting and playing cards.

Lord I still remember my black and white deck from ages ago. SO non regulation. 4 royal assassins, 4 sorceress queens, 4 minions of Tvesh Zsat (that and a queen was an instant death for anything, I loved it), 4 serra angels, 2 seraphs, 4 icy manipulators, 2 kavorkian vampires, 4 sengir vampires, and a baron sengir just because I liked the idea of him in theory.
Just the fact that I posted that makes me think I don't deserve to get laid ever again

What kind of cards are you looking for? T1 or T2 stuff?
I've got a small ton of spare Ravnica duals along with a ton of Time Spiral Block stuff for current sets. For older stuff I've got a signed Italian mana drain and some fetchlands from Onslaught.
I probably would have killed for that old set of power. I'm missing a Mox Emerald to finish off my set of power.

I bet my Yugioh deck could kick your Yugioh deck's ass.

Haha exactly, I had the ol' Baron in one of my decks just cause I liked him even though I never really was able to use him effectively.
I went looking for my old cards recently, I'm worried my mom might have thrown them away when she cleaned out my room. That would suck, I didn't have any moxes but I had a couple cards worth over 100 each and a bunch of duel lands and other old cards.

I haven't played Magic online really. I think I tried it once and it didn't last a week. I really should play online though as there would be a lot more people.
Anyhow, tangible cards for now.
And I'm not really trying to distinguish between t1 and t2, though its the newer sets I don't really have much of. I think the last time I went back to magic and quit, it was somewhere around Mirrodin. I didn't have many of the cards pre-Visions either, though I wound up getting some here and there. I'm not against those older ones, but they are not as important since I won't be able to play them in tournaments if I get into that.
Pretty sure I still have a playset of Onslaught block, and Mirrodin.
Don't like foreign cards.
I might be interested in the Ravnica and TimeSpiral stuff though Kitsun.

OH, random question.
But one of my favorite decks was Prosperous Bloom from the mirage block.
Have they come out with any new cards that would help that combo? Some way to make an uber type 1 prosperous bloom sounds neat.

I wish there was a decent online emulator without all the pay shit. Allow you to start with a starter and 1 addition pack (random) per week or so.

For online stuff. I was pointed at this site, but I haven't played with it in the least. It's got 456 downloads for card games alone. Different games, updates, all kinds of things from what I saw. Enjoy it.

I also have this, which is all magic.

magic online was pretty nice, in that it just made it so much easier to play. Though I did miss the physical connection to the cards, having it figure out all the complex rules interaction, keep track of stack processing and everything for you was a relief :)
I played a TON when it was in beta testing (got free cards!) and I had a whole bunch of really neat decks. That was around invasion block. I played a little after that, put in enough to make some of the T2 decks I enjoyed playing then. None of which were tier1 quality but they were still good times.
the 3 i played around then were:
a threshold deck with the full invasion block cycle of "egg" cards. (1 mana CC, ability of tap 2 mana of any color and sac the egg. Add 2 mana of two different colors, specific to each egg, and draw a card) I would plow through my deck, and fill up the GY, with the eggs and play cheap creatures with thresh (nimble mongoose, werebear, krosan beast, mystic enforcer, etc.) The all star of the deck actually, was nantuko cultivaor. I had nothing over like 4cc, but doing that much drawing I would fill my hand up with land if the game went on too long. cultivator has ability "when you play, discard any number of land cards from your hand. draw that many cards from the top of your deck. cultivator comes into play with X +1/+1 counters on him, where x is the number of cards discarded in this way" so yeah...it was like a tolarian winds w/ a 8/8 creature attached to it.
enchantress deck (yavimaya + verduran enchantress with things like pacifism, and hobble to stop their creatures. eventually roll them over with a 14/14 trample enchantress)
and, for shits and giggles, a kaldra deck. invincible 9/9 token on the board and cast wrath of god or...the other card i forget the name of now that would destroy every permanent in play. It woudl be funny to win with nothing on the board except my 9/9 creature.

I remember Wrath of God. Whenever someone pulled that out, you knew you were screwed. They either had something REALLY good going on, or you had all of your good stuff going on, and it was allllll gone.
Ritual of the Machine and Terror were some of my favorites. You just tossed those out and blazed through everything.

Ritual of the Machine with Rukh Eggs was a great way to give your opponent an aneurysm.
Cyclopean Tombs with Angry Mobs and Karma were fun, too.
