-Can you mstrike in 5 seconds using handaxes even when focus mstriking 5 or 6 times?

-How long does it take to recover from a mstrike, is it possible to use it solely for hunting, without typeing kill etc.

-The weapon weights confuse me, does the off hand weapon weight have to be lighter then the first?

-no

-depending on how fast you kill creatures. the recovery time is like 10-12 seconds or so. I mstrike every creature at least once (i use very small weapons, larger ones would probally kill more outright)

I'm positive you can't get a 5 second RT with a 5-6 strike handaxe without using haste or Tonis or HAX.

With lots of PF and very light weapons, you still couldn't back-to-back mstrike. Best-case scenarios can alternate mstrike and kill though, that's pretty good!

It sounds like you're talking about TWC. It doesn't *have* to be, but generally you'll suffer RT penalties from doing so that will propogate into mstrike RT. Lighter weight in hand (including shields and whatnot) is better for mstrike recovery time, but has no appreciable effect on RT (beyond the aforementioned TWC issue).

even with haste...thats 20-25 seconds or round time. Thats not happening no matter what spells/stats you have. i'm thinking in the 12-15 second range is the lowest you could possibly ever see for that, if you were permahasted.

-No. With a 5-6 hit focused mstrike, you'll run around 15 seconds worth of RT (depending on your stats, weapons, skills, etc).

-Most likely no.. my warrioress (level 45, 2x'd in MoC and PF, with a handaxe) takes about 10 seconds to recover from a non-focused, 2-critter mstrike (two attacks worth). She can unfocus mstrike 2 critters in 5 seconds, 3 critters in 8 seconds, 4 critters in 11 seconds, and 5 critters in 14 seconds. She can focused mstrike 2 hits in 5 seconds, 3 hits in 8 seconds, 4 hits in 11 seconds, 5 hits in 14 seconds. (I'm going to assume, by the looks of it, an additional hit (either focused or unfocused, gives 3 additional seconds of RT, no matter how high I go). This is, of course, all unencumbered. She's an elf, with a combined AGI/DEX bonus of 56. (So, to re-answer your question... it's most likely NOT possible to hunt solely with mstriking, unless you want to give critters a chance to do stuff against you. You'd be better off mstriking, and then if that doesn't kill the critter, continue to attack as normal (with kill, wt sat (spin attack), etc.).)

-See the above Krakiipedia link for the TWC explanation.

Self cast haste from a wizard overtrained in MjE can reduce any RT to 1 second... you'de just have to be an idiot to train like that :) (I did the math for the hell of it once, something like 230 ranks of MjE and 200 air will reduce a 60 second RT to 1 second).

Irrelevant info FTW!!! :medieval:

Interesting, thats a bummer though I really wanted to twirl twirl twirl my way to a kill. Anyone know what weapon has good damage and can still get off a few shots with 5 seconds?

So long as you're NOT fighting something that is wearing plate or immune to punctures, try a rapier (second fastest OHE next to a dagger). If you get a neck/head/eye hit the critter will be a goner...

Did some testing with a dagger versus a handaxe...

Dagger:

>ms merc
You concentrate intently, focusing all your energies.
You explode into a fury of strikes and ripostes, moving with a singular purpose and will!
You swing a rune-etched rolaren long knife at a krolvin mercenary!
Your series of strikes and ripostes leaves you winded and out of position.
Roundtime: 5 sec. (1 hit - 5 seconds)
>ms merc

You swing a rune-etched rolaren long knife at a krolvin mercenary!

Roundtime: 8 sec. (4 hits - 8 seconds)
>at mer

Roundtime: 3 sec. (Normal attack - 3 seconds)

Handaxe:

(I know from experience that 1 hit mstrikes are 5 seconds with the handaxe-base weapon)
You concentrate intently, focusing all your energies.
You explode into a fury of strikes and ripostes, moving with a singular purpose and will!
You swing a rolaren waraxe at a krolvin warrior!

Your series of strikes and ripostes leaves you winded and out of position.
Roundtime: 14 sec. (4 hits - 14 seconds)
>at warr
You swing a rolaren waraxe at a krolvin warrior!
Roundtime: 5 sec. (Normal attack - 5 seconds)

Name: Cylnthia Kythnis Race: Elf Profession: Warrior (shown as: Protector)
Gender: Female Age: 325 Expr: 2194758 Level: 45
Normal (Bonus) ... Enhanced (Bonus)
Strength (STR): 100 (25) ... 100 (25)
Constitution (CON): 100 (25) ... 100 (25)
Dexterity (DEX): 77 (18) ... 77 (18)
Agility (AGI): 97 (38) ... 97 (38)
Discipline (DIS): 80 (0) ... 80 (0)
Aura (AUR): 84 (22) ... 84 (22)
Logic (LOG): 76 (13) ... 76 (13)
Intuition (INT): 69 (9) ... 69 (9)
Wisdom (WIS): 64 (7) ... 64 (7)
Influence (INF): 55 (12) ... 55 (12)

So, from this, it looks like my minimum RT (without haste/tonis/etc) for mstrikes is 5 seconds. I do believe the AGI/DEX bonus combination plays a factor into this, so you may have more or less.
