Flat out pour failure... no roll... I was doing 6x enchantments at level 29 so I thought I'd give 7x a shot. Anyone care to share insight?

You gesture at a opal-hilted rolaren short sword.
The underlying patterns of essence within the rolaren short sword indicate that it has been enchanted, and you notice your own enchanter's mark on it. You recognize the vibrant indigo aura surrounding it as indicating a strong level of enchantment.

You glance down to see a opal-hilted rolaren short sword in your right hand and a mirtokh potion in your left hand.

You pour your potion on the sword.
The liquid coats the rolaren short sword, which glows faintly white for a moment and then returns to normal.
You have 2 doses left.

(at level 35), your current skill bonuses and ranks (including all modifiers) are:

I'm guessing it means you don't even meet the threshold skill mark for 7x, and therefore didn't even activate the roll.

Well, I'm 2x in MIU and I talked to someone earlier today who is also level 35 working on a 7x project. I know the pouring bonus is some combination of stat bonuses and MIU skill based on watching the progression of the bonus with training and comparing between other wizards. Therefor I can pretty much rule out the influence of the rest of my training.

Are you sure that there is even such a threshold where you are not allowed a check if you don't meet the requirements?

Hmmm...dunno, been so long since I ever failed a pour, certainly not since the new changes, been way above any theoretical threshold for awhile.

Did you try to repour? Maybe it was just a disasterous pour?

Yeah, I poured around 4 times all with the same result. I even tried some stupid longshot things like... buying a new potion in case the old one expired, and I swapped the sword and potion in my hands too.

Is rolaren unable to temper after it's 6x?

Damn it... I just forgot it was blessed... Now I have to wear this thing out.

You're going to fail the 7x.

Bless can be spiritually dispelled.

I never kept up with enchanting much since the nerf, but even without the bless, I'm guessing you'll have massive trouble with a 7x, due to your level and wizard ranks.

Or does level play no factor at all now?

You do just fine at enchanting, even with the changes.

Yeah but I'm also 100, and made of pure 1337. So how's my luck been with 7x so far? This is a weird conversation now.

Hah! So how's my luck been with 7x so far? This is a weird conversation now.

One success so far, and no other attempts. Time is a pissy thing.

Maul currently at 6x going to 7 though.

Level plays a factor in that overtraining in spell ranks is nerfed... so a lvl 100 with 50 ranks of wizard/MjE has the same bonus as a lvl 50 w/ 50 ranks of wizard/MjE and all the same other skills.
