Citizens, merchants and assorted dregs of society jostle against you before the great wooden gates of Wehnimer's Landing. Harried guards and militiamen try to keep the chaos to a minimum, but it is hard to keep track of those entering, let alone leaving, this large trading post. A dirt path encircling the wooden palisade of the town leads east and southwest. Nailed prominently to the wooden wall beside the gate is a sign you really should read. You also see the earth brown Sapphyrre disk and a Wayside Inn.

Drew2
11-26-2003, 07:48 AM
That may be, but I'm not in the stocks.

[Town Square, West]
Here in the midst of the town stretches the cobblestoned main bazaar, its serpentine lanes abuzz with traders bartering, bickering, and hawking their wares. The freewheeling vendors in the bazaar provide a lively alternative to the somewhat stodgier merchants whose shops border the square. The gilded but peeling stone facade of the First Elanith Bank dominates this side of the square. You also see a basket of rotting fruit, a city official, the translucent Deathdivious disk, a wooden shield, a small rose, some light leather and an elegant lavender shawl.
Also here: Dalilly, Knoggen, Lord Rollind, Methadun who is set in stocks, Lord Deathdivious, Lord Methuslah who is sitting
Obvious paths: north, east, south, west

Actually.. the term 'tool' being used in that context is a rather new usage and thus would not be in genre within the game.

And yes.. Tayre IS the tool.

I say good on Tayre for suckering him into getting thrown in jail. Tayre didn't kill him, just dispelled and bound him...then when he was no longer bound, he goes west to have his other character cast spells on him (I wonder why he even went east, it was obvious what was going on...should have just stood there) and kills Tayre. That was...dumb.

Jaehood's a prick. My cleric was with a body in TSC, we'd established that she was going to be raised by me.

As soon as she was healed, Jaehood proceeds to ask her if she wants a raise. Before she can answer that asshole grabs her, major sancts, and disappears with her so he can raise her.

P-R-I-C-K. But then again if you're so fucked now you can't hunt and can only get your learning by raising, have fun, jackass. I hunt for my experience.

I agree that Tool was OOC. I think I even knw it at the time. However I have had probably a total of 15 hours sleep in the past 5 days or so, so frankly I didn't care at the time.

And yes, I used it because it was my name on PC, and I used it out of the context it would have been appropriate.

That aside, I manipulated him into doing exactly what I wanted him to do, which proves he's the idiot (who ended up getting fruit thrown at him in the stocks) that I knew he was the moment he opened his mouth. Or in this case, his thoughts.

p.s.- I noticed later that he knew I was a sylvan before even seeing me. Which suggets he either a) visits these boards or b)Has run into me as another character.

I want to say he's our friendly neighborhood Sean, but I won't make that accusation as of yet.

Same could be said for the converse. I don't know the other two idiots in the grab, but I do know I see twice weekly postings of Tayre fighting someone or another.

I've never even interacted with him in the game, so maybe he's a great guy, who knows. All I know is what I've read here, which I think you can agree, does not shine a nice light on him at all.

Exageration, yet I still believe your extreme dislike of me forces you to take a negative stance on anything I post anyway. However I recognize your point.

I've never even interacted with him in the game, so maybe he's a great guy, who knows.

Not that I even remotely expect you or anyone to care, but Tayre is a very dynamic character. However I will not post my personal RP moments with people that I enjoy for people (such as yourself) to disect and ruin it for me. I post things that mean little to nothing to me.

All I know is what I've read here, which I think you can agree, does not shine a nice light on him at all.

Like I said, I don't post my better moments, for several reasons. I can see how you can draw that conclusion though, and I respect your opinion.

oh fucking shut the fuck up, people go OOC worse then that every single day, I don't see you bvitching and complaining about that

I don't think I heard one person in this thread actually whine or cry about the usage of the term tool.

Sure there are worse terms to use in this genre... but that doesn't make the term 'tool' any better... now does it.

People do go worse then that every single day. But my post was in response to a log posted here. If you post a log here, expect all different kinds of comments.

The person he was fighting said "Owned" and I thought Tayre RP'd his response to that rather well.

::Edited to add "Shut the fuck up" after I re-read Silleck's comment again::

Oh people not bitching explain this

BTW Tool, Do you need to call people "Tool" in the game? It's not very IC.

Actually.. the term 'tool' being used in that context is a rather new usage and thus would not be in genre within the game.

posted by Tayre I agree that Tool was OOC. I think I even knw it at the time. However I have had probably a total of 15 hours sleep in the past 5 days or so, so frankly I didn't care at the time.

and NO one is bitching about TOOL? read teh fucking post before you make comments that are totally wrong.

People ARE bitching about the term "tool" being OOC. Personally, I do not blame them one bit. The fact that players constantly use OOC terms in-game pisses me off to no end, and it always did.

Whether the offensive term is "tool" or any other obviously OOC term, it does not belong in-game. The fact that OOC has become widespread and constant does not make it right. It does nothing for the ambiance of the game, to be sure.

Silleck.. I'd debate you on the actual term of 'whining' or 'crying' but it's obvious from your posts it wouldn't be much of a debate.

I would state my reason for my opinion and you would probably post something like "Fuckzor you Falgrin, u r unkool d00d. I am teh bom and you suxorz so there."

I'll simply end this by saying it wasn't a whine or a cry.. it was a basic and simple opinion. Using the term "tool" as Tayre did in that log he posted would be considered OOG. The usage denotes a more modern day use than what would have been utilized in the middle ages, which Gemstone attempts to imitate. No one back then would have said "God, you are such a tool... you can't do anything right."

Could he have used a worse reference? Certainly. He could have said "God Methadun, u r a computer geek and look like Michael Jackson." Certainly we can see how much more glaring OOG that would be.

This has gotten a little off topic, but I just wanted to say I had my own run in with Methadun on the glacier a few minutes ago.

I ran back to town to get healed then made my way back to the glacier. He was fighting the artic titan I was previously. I waited in hiding for him to kill it so I could retrieve an arrow. I then left and went a few rooms away to find another critter. He walked in just after I shot one and was revealed from hiding. He then killed the two critters in the room and when I confronted him about it, he claimed I was stalking him.

Ugh. I just let it go, but I would've loved to put an arrow through his eye.

Personally from looking at the log, and from experiences I have had and have heard others have with Jaehood/Methadun, I have to say that it seemed to me that Methadun has done what most folks do that irritates the HELL out of me..which is pick a fight with someone, then cry about them being older then them when they appear to be losing. *rolls eyes* Either way, Tayre did NOT in my opinion, come out looking stupid, Methadun did in so many more ways then I have just named.

Oh, oh! And yet the player claims he's a "shared character" when he complained about Reyek/Devlun. I think he's full of shit and deserves to be drug out to the side of the road and shot twice. Just my opinion, though.

Love you Jolena!

One day (five minutes ago), Tayre was bored. So he seeks out a snert to destroy.

You are now in an offensive stance.
[Script]>You channel at Methadun.
You concentrate intently on Methadun, a pulse of pearlescent energy ripples toward Methadun!
CS: +227 - TD: +136 + CvA: -18 + d100: +86 == +159
Warding failed!
Methadun shudders with severe convulsions as pearlescent ripples envelop his body.
Methadun is crushed for 65 points of damage!

* Methadun drops dead at your feet!

The dim aura fades from around Methadun.
The deep blue glow leaves Methadun.
Methadun appears less confident.
The light blue glow leaves Methadun.
The powerful look leaves Methadun.
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.

Mission accomplished.
