This loveliness happened after Zodin meteor swarmed the park with some 40+ people at it. I'm sure someone has already post a link for it but I thought I'd share this part:
OOC]-Ylarra: "36 plus a few...Ylarra is pregnant"
[OOC]-You: "..."
[OOC]-Nakiro: "NOT anymore!"
<insert a bunch of people talking about the fine>
[OOC]-Ylarra: "she's still preggers....she has a talisman"
[OOC]-You: "Yay, another GS pregnancy. Isn't she like...an elf and he's a giantman or some shiz?"
<insert more talking about fine>
[Private]-Ylarra: "yep"

"some shiz"? You trying to beat out dessedemona for queen gs shithead or something?

It's an epidemic in Icemule too. I don't know why, but it is..
Cold weather? :P

I am not a fan of GS pregnancy, it seems like it's like a recent trend or something.

It's [unfortunately] not just a recent trend.
If I'm not mistaken, isn't Elf / Giant not possible anyway, per the documentation?

Why let a little thing like game documentation stop you?
The giant/halfling couples are the real mind boggling pairings. Can just picture the little bowlegged things waddling about, whistling like a wind tunnel with every step.

On an aside, is it just me, or did someone seem to enjoy writing about all of the possible krolvin matings just a bit much?

Whoever made them up, IMO, went a little far into the "it's magic, ok? don't question it" realm. Elanthian biology, reproductive and otherwise, is seriously buggered.

much like many Elanthians, no doubt.

Probably one of the most contraversial forms of roleplay. I don't mind that people choose to RP pregnancies, but I hate it when they use ACT and SMILE to "play" with the kid and make run around the room and stuff.
Xaerve
07-24-2007, 12:54 PM
nevermind!
Why can't these people just turn around and play with thier own RL children instead of cybering the existance of one?
I knew someone who gave her actual kid a rusk then ignored it for hours while RPing someone who couldn't have children.
This happened/s a lot when I played a few years ago with a scary amount of players.

Anyone read that recent article where two WoW players (husband and wife) in Reno were arrested for almost starving their two kids to death because they were too busy online to feed them?

Hey with as much cyber as there seems to be, theres bound to be cyber babies too, I mean its only logical right

I'm curious what relevance "she has a talisman" is... what the fuck does that even mean?
When the baby is born will it walk into a void and get caught in a time warp coming back as a young adult?

Personally, I dont have problem with people RPing it..its their choice and their business. As for the giant/Sylvan thing..it did never say specificly in the Docs that they cant reproduce, just like someone else said Sylvans cant with Krovlinwas the only thing really touched on. So..technically maybe they can but I cant see it being easy in any case, Especially if the Father is Giant. The size of the baby vs. the size of what the mother's body is made for. I cant see it being an easy pregnancy, could leave her barren or even kill her..all those RP possiblities, really..

It's not like anyone who knocks boots with Yao Ming or Paul Wight is going to go sterile. The Krolvin thing is more about magic MAXIMUM HETRO Krolvin sperm that impregnate elves and halflings TO THE EXTREME than relative size, anyway.

Who says that genetics in GemStone are the same as genetics IRL? In fact, that's impossible, because we don't have Sylvans or Giants. It turns out there's a genetic property where the size of the child is 100% dependent on the size of the mother, so size isn't a factor in GS babies. Documentation can't save you now.

The first thing that occurs to me before we even get to the pregnancy situation, is why would a giant find a halfling *attractive* in the first place and vice versa?

Whats the probelm with going to the 'turnip farm' and picking out your new bundle of joy? By the time you do that, they are potty broke, eat solids and can even get a wondrfully bouncy Sprite to help him/her to get to a first train. That way they can hunt rats, for pelt to make a living all by themselfs. Cheers to the Kiddies.
P.S. Whats the point of being pregnant IG again?

Yes, because this less then one day old infant needs help to go kill rats.

I suppose if someone wants to RP a 10 year old who is strong enough to draw a long bow, then there's nothing really wrong with RP'ing a pregnancy.
Except for the part about it being odd and creepy.

Nothing can take away the pain of the skin of your abdomen looking as if it's pulled like taffy. :(
But seriously, as I recall after childbirth I was exhausted and pissed off and happy...I was one big ball of hormonal emotion. I wasn't waltzing around the hospital going:
"Don't I look slimmer?!" *giggle*

You just needed a "form-fitting sinuously femine hospital one-piece of bloated uterine concealment."
