Best in what regard? I'm partial to the few 10x masterfully crit padded suits myself.

A few sets of incredible, masterful and exceptional still remain in game today.

Nah Tayvin has Tsin's old set which is imo the best, incredibly crit padded after all, and light to boot.

Tayvin has 5x incredible golvern and I have 9x masterful golvern.. those two are probably the best

Its not even slated or has a GM actively working on it. Its a pipe dream. Don't sweat it.

I don't know.... Warden clearly said at simucon that these will be implemented sometime soon. Which of course could mean years from now, but Warden and nerfing seem to go hand and hand.

They won't drop much, even though Tsin is a rogue most of these plate sets are in the hands of warriors.

Since we're considering Warden proposed changes, if the damage padding change rolls in then the red armor would be up top again as well.

Just a general "looking into improvements" nothing concrete. Basically it was just agreed upon that it was underpowered currently. I wouldn't expect anything in the near future.

9x Masterful is what I would consider the best. Enchant that high would be awesome, padding is just a plus.

I still have a couple of nice sets as well, the best being a 9X masterful set that's pretty light as well...can't remember off the top of my head what it is.


Some history on the golvern incredible plate. Original owner was Sagan, and it weighed at that point 1 lb. I got it from Ciston after Sagan left and it got nerfed before I went on staff (along with a couple of other things). The nerfing brought it up to 10 lbs and I asked that it be made into half plate (this is where I got the idea on the future armor conversion merchants that Khal and I do). At the time the consensus was that half plate was the best trade off for hinderance versus protection. I later decided the 9x set was better suited for me and traded/sold the incredible set to Tsin. I am not sure who had it converted back to full plate.

I honestly don't know. I haven't been a very active GM since 2004 and I went over to the CE side a bit before that...so you probably have more clue than I do honestly. The military blocks Simutronics so I can't even read the boards much.
