Brawling and Weapons and Voln

Are brawling weapons the only way to add crit/dmg weighting to your brawling attacks? Those weapons I'm guessing also have to be blessed to attack undead. How do regular brawling attacks work against undead...or when fighting undead. How would a level 3, brawling character, start working up favor if you don't get the throw/kick/punch until ranks 7,8, and 9?

Weapons that have weighting can't be blessed. Unweighted brawling weapons do have to be blessed to affect the undead, yes.

Technically, all brawling attacks that aren't maneuver-based are weapon-based. If your character doesn't have an actual brawling weapon, he or she is counted as using the closed fist weapon base when attacking. It's not possible to have a blessed closed fist (in the purest sense). The only way to fight the undead without Voln Fu is to get a bless on something.

If you really want to go through Voln, grab a troll claw or something, get it blessed, and whomp away.
