Anyone know what the highest weighted javelins are floating around, and what the value of one might be?

No offense, but whats with your obsession over crit weighting?

It kills stuff faster man, and makes you hit things REALLY HARD!!!11

Crit weighting is overrated...
Javelin vs Scale/Chain (brig), Masterful crit weighted averages to a bonus equivical of +20 to endroll minus 5 points of damage. Against skin/light leather the weighting becomes less useful, and against harder armor it becomes more useful. As your endroll gets higher (and the weighting caps) it becomes useless.

What that means is that if you throw a 0x masterful crit javelin and have a total roll of 150, and someone throws a 0x normal javelin and has an endroll of 170, on average you will do the same crit, and they will do 5 more points of damage than you did.

Effectively 4x javelin > 0x masterful crit javelin.

To be honest, I don't think there is a CW jav out there. Unless it's really really old.

There were some HCW spears out there, 3x.

I've never seen or heard of a crit/damage weighted javelin in my 12½ years playing GemStone.

Come to think about it, I'm really not sure that I have even seen any IG flaring javelins ::scratches head::

I know of at least one, the pure imflass one I owned a while back.

+12, lightning flares, scripted, and self-charging Cone of Lightning with alternate messaging.

Still, it could have been a doorknob for all the good it did as a weapon - who would hurl and risk losing a weapon like that?

I'm too lazy to pull up crit tables for a javelin, but I think "doorknob" when swung must be pretty accurate.

Pretty sure Jenisi is selling one or two in her thread too if you're interested in those Bigby.

Those spears are well worth the coins too, IMO.

Bonded warrior? But still, much better weapons to be used, unless its for RP purposes

The old imflass javelines no longer work unfortunately.

Did they manage to break them a second time?

The one I had was actually 'fixed,' to where the Cone effect was activated by TOSS, since HURL was implemented for weapon hurling.

Perhaps you're right. I know there were three variants and all were broken thanks to the HURL addition. I imagine they are still fixed.

I'd bet the others are still broken. It took something like a year and a half of infrequent assisting to find someone that would actually fix the one I had. I think they just tinkered mine rather then rolling the change into all of them.

I've got a standard 4x lightning-flaring javelin on my hurler. Want to say I picked it up on the WD, but not sure.

if the one jenisi is selling is an altered elven forged vultite boar spear, its 4x hcw. very nice weapon if you want something fast with a decent df.

Elven vultite boar spears are 4x and heavy crit weighted

What Mr. Summertime said. I think i bought one from him like 9272 years ago.

Just be a rogue, you're "automatically" crit-weighted
