An uneasy peace between the dwarves of Mithral Hall and the orcs of the newly established Kingdom of Many-Arrows can’t last long.

The orc tribes united under Obould begin to fight each other, and Bruenor is determined to finish the war that nearly killed him and almost destroyed everything he's worked to build.

But it will take more than swords and axes to bring a lasting peace to the Spine of the World.

Powerful individuals on both sides may have to change the way they see each other. They may have to start to talk. But it won’t be easy.

Guess I'll be ordering this along with Potter.

Hmm. If this is coming out I will have to pick it up once I am done with the War of the Spider Queen novels. Cool beans. Then I just need to read the Sellsword Saga and the Cleric Quintet.

You should have read Cleric Quintet before Legacy of the Drow, actually. Though it was published afterwards, the book actually should be read chronologically before Legacy because of references made by Cadderly regarding Cleric Quintet, etc.

However, I've read all of the Sellsword Saga (which is fantastic), the Spider Queen novels (which are also fantastic), and all of the Drow novels up until this new one. I can't wait to get my hands on a copy of this one too.

I'd also recommend picking up The Spearwielder's Tale (which is a trilogy) by R.A.Salvatore as well. Its really good.

Or read some real fantasy, that doesn't read like it was written by a six year old, and pick up A Game of Thrones, or Orcs!

Well again, if you want to read trash, fair play. Salvatore is a terrible writer. He character's are predictable, his plots flimsy. He does indeed write like a teenager. In fact I would say the books themselves are aimed heavily at the younger audience; it's seldom very real, dangerous, or fantastical reading. Has a main character even died yet? I forget. I do recall Wulfgar dying, whom was quickly ressurected a book or two later. I found myself loling a lot reading through the last Drizzt trilogy simply at the stark contrast of some kiddie fantasy land and something more cerebral and terrible, like Thrones, Conan, Elric etc.

We just have to agree to disagree. I enjoy the books very much.

I've always been a big fan of R.A.'s work, but I do have to agree with that one aspect. R.A.'s people never die. It kind of takes away from his stories just a bit. But I still enjoy his work.

You do have other authors of the other extreme, like Wies and Hickman - Who kill everyone because they can.

Sword of Thrones is great stuff, but I also enjoy the diversity of Salvatore's world with Forgotten Realms.

I think you would like War of the Spider Queen, Stray. Then again, they were written by all different authors, none of them Salvatore. He just had a hand in guiding them.

Salvatore's books are good if you enjoy light fantasy. I've read most of them and they're nice for a change of pace.

I imagine the Harry Potter books are similar though I haven't read any yet.

Salvatore's stuff does smack of PG-13ness, while The Storm of Swords series seems like it is R rated with all the sex.

Salvatore is the James Patterson of fantasy. Light, popcorn reading that caters to a general audience, doesn't require much in-depth thinking from the reader and whom book snobs love to hate.
