Hi, I am creating a warrior. What is the optimun training as far as DS goes when deciding on shield/dodge training? I am thinking of 3x shield, .5x dodge, with a wall shield for maximum blocking ability. But with this little dodge, and eventually I will be in plate, should I just have no dodge? Let me know.

With that build, tower.

You will want dodge to activate dodging regardless.

If you can try for 1x, that would be best.

You don't need any dodge ranks to dodge in EBP. I don't know if the same is true for the dodge DS formula.

Unless you do a multiple weapon style build or something (which seems unlikely with a shield) you're going to have plenty of points, so you might as well get at least .5x dodge. I'm taking my 3x shield guy to 1x dodge as soon as I finish up armor.

The most DS would be with a 3x/3x plan, obviously. As a warrior, you really don't need to worry about DS for the overwhelming majority of the game. 3x/.5x and even 3x/0x will get you plenty of DS.

Wait, you can dodge with no dodge, but you can't parry with no weapon training...

THAT'S FUCT!

I had to see it a good three times to believe it myself, but it happens. My guess is that just as stats play a role in the DS formula, good enough stats can generate a (very small) dodge %. That seems pretty unlikely, but there has to be some explanation.

Every game with some kind of EBP system I've ever played has some sort of base percentage you get to dodge.

I have no formal sword/combat training, but if you swing an axe at me I gurangoddamntee you i'll try to get out of the way, and probally succeed (at least for the first swing...leaving me horribly out of position and off balance :))
