I was curious. I want to drop first aid (not sure why I took it in the first place since I usually don't live long enough to use herbs if something hits me) and use that on some lores, and wondered if there was anything else I should change - also considered dropping spell aiming to 1x and maybe adding a few spell ranks to boost CS. Anyway, here's what I have currently.

at level 34), your current skill bonuses and ranks (including all modifiers) are:
Skill Name | Current Current
| Bonus Ranks
Armor Use..........................| 40 8
Physical Fitness...................| 102 24
Arcane Symbols.....................| 126 33
Magic Item Use.....................| 126 33
Spell Aiming.......................| 168 68
Harness Power......................| 166 66
Elemental Mana Control.............| 126 33
Spirit Mana Control................| 126 33
Sorcerous Lore - Demonology........| 30 6
Sorcerous Lore - Necromancy........| 25 5
Climbing...........................| 50 10
Swimming...........................| 50 10
First Aid..........................| 140 40

Spell Lists
Minor Elemental....................| 30

Spell Lists
Minor Spirit.......................| 20

Spell Lists
Sorcerer...........................| 34

Any suggestions are welcome.

Edit: Also - is Voln worth it if I'm not brawling? I was thinking that it would be better to have wracking for hunting.

I like COL better, plus you can Staunch so then you would really not need FA. I never played a Sorc before so Im sure someone can chime in but arent there some spells in which 2x SA is pretty important?

I see 1x in spellaim as sensless... but this is my personal opinion so I will tell you the goods and bads of it...
sorcerer spells effected by spellaiming: 111, 118, 710, 720, 708... also you have to take into account using any kind of wands that have a bolt AS

with 0 ranks of spellaiming: forget about 111 altogether, never be able to use 118 as a bolt (which also requires 20 ranks of summoning lore), your 710, and 720 will not focus at all... (you can still use the opened versions of both spells) and forget about focusing 708 you will have no CS with a focused cast (though you still have a normal CS when you cast 708 at something unfocused and it will remove whatever it wants on it's own) and forget about using any wands that are AS attacks

with 1x in spell aiming: this will have all the same effects as 0x spellaiming except you will be able to focus your 710 and 720 on critters (however, you will never be able to use them effectively against like level foes, and definately not anything over your train), this will also not give you enough bolt AS to use any of the bolt spells effectively, but it will give you enough to run around bolting critters 20- trains under your train if you feel the need to. I'm not sure what effect this will have on your CS with focused 708 at 1x aiming, but I think you have to be 2x in order to have your normal CS (I could be wrong on this, as I have not 1x aiming in a long time)

2x spell aiming: with 708 you will be able to focus your limb disruption to whatever limb you specify with your normal sorcerer CS... 720 focused is a beautiful thing with 2x aiming, I'll just leave it at that (can't tell all my secrets). 710, the critters up to 10 trains over you will not dodge your tempest, you will be able to focus multiple tempests easier, and with more power (I don't know who uses this spell over 30 trains, I don't), you will have a decent AS with 111, 118, and any bolt AS wands... (add COL signs, and 117 and your AS will be loevely, this comes in very handy in invasions)

with that in mind, I'm not sure why a sorcerer would chose Voln over COL other then for RP...
basically, 1x spell aiming makes little sense since you will be training in it and only be able to use the spells half-assedly on much lower level critters... So, unless you just want 1x aiming for magic ranks (runestaff defense is overrated) or you want to be able to bolt little critters...
training in spellaiming is better all (2x) or nothing (and use your TP's for more sorcerer spells = higher CS)
I say 2x spellaiming gives you too many other weapons to pass up, but that's just my opinion

and your triaining plan looks pretty solid so far, though dropping the first aid couldn't hurt, and you want ATLEAST 6 more ranks in demonology to keep your cloak of shadows from lashing back at you...

Thanks for the tips. I dropped first aid and I'm planning on getting demon lore to 50 and then starting on necro lore, as well as going to switch to CoL - wracking is just too handy for hunting as well as the signs for AS/DS and staunching. I kept the spell aim at 2x - decided I liked being able to focus 710 and 720 too much.

I'm a huge fan of 1x in spell aiming personally. At cap, it's 1,000 TPs you save between 1x and 2x. By about level 60 or so, you won't need it for FI, and by then you won't be using FM. And you can still get plenty of use out of 708 and 118.

Having said that, dropping SA at level 34 would render 720 and 710 useless for quite some time.

Hmm. I'll wait til around 60 and test it out, then, and see how I do.

curious... with 1x spellaiming how is your CS while focusing 708?
