I’ve set up a small business domain with about 10 email accounts with the host whom I also use for my own personal domain. My domain has 0 spam, has been in use for a couple of years and only has one account. The small business domain has been in use since January, has 10 accounts plus an info at domain dot com, and recently has been receiving 2-5 spam emails with attachments a day.

What solution is there? Is this amount of spam considered acceptable in the industry? Would changing to another host be worth looking at and how difficult is making that transition?

Do you have a mailto: anywhere in the code on your webpage?

Who hosts your domain? Are both domains hosted by the same webhost?

How many places would you say your email addresses are given out? Do you do a lot of web advertising?

Yep. A couple actually. I see what you are getting at.

Mecca Hosting. Yes they host both.

Emails are going out to all over the place. And we have an email newsletter that goes out.

That's where they get them from. There is some simple code you can pick up to screw up email harvesting bots. Google it.
