The Spellburst effect that inhibits excessive use of magic defenses in Old Ta'Faendryl and the Skull Temple has been updated for GemStone IV. The previous version relied upon ranks in MIU, Scroll Reading and Mana Share. The new version includes ranks of all magic skills found in the Character Manager from Arcane Symbols to Lores and player level in its calculations. Further research should provide one with a fair idea how much additional help they will be able to obtain from magical defenses
