So I'm walking through TSC and I see someone dragging Albacora away while someone's healing her. I follow thinking it could get amusing and this is what followed. I edited out extraneous junk.

Theana meditates over Albacora.
Theana takes Albacora's head damage.

[Town Square, West]
Here in the midst of the town stretches the cobblestoned main bazaar, its serpentine lanes abuzz with traders bartering, bickering, and hawking their wares. The freewheeling vendors in the bazaar provide a lively alternative to the somewhat stodgier merchants whose shops border the square. The gilded but peeling stone facade of the First Elanith Bank dominates this side of the square. You also see a dusty brown tent.

You see Journeyman Pukk Giva the Rogue.
He appears to be a Human of the Tehir tribes.
He appears to be in the prime of life and taller than average. He has brooding milky blue eyes and fair skin. He has short, wavy jet black hair streaked with silver.
He is in good shape.
He is wearing a crystal amulet, a shadowy black alloy lockpick case, some padded black brocade boots, a walrus skin belt quiver, some pitch black pants, some double leather, a black silk climbing pack, a polished black leather greatcloak, a metal aventail, a mithril juggernaut pin, a fur-lined helm, a silver coiled serpent ring, a wooden shield, a wide gold ring, a black leather tool kit, a bone-inlaid copper bracer, a pale golden ruic longbow carved with jagged lightning bolts, and a silver-bladed dagger medallion.

[Town Square, Northwest]
This corner of the square is lively and hectic. A number of representatives of the Landing's population, including several elven loggers and a party of rough-looking dwarves, loiter around the door of the Raging Thrak Inn, where the rowdy cheers of patrons and voices raised in songs of many sorts, from snatches of heroic ballads to blushingly bawdy tunes, beckon you to enter.
Obvious paths: north, east, southeast, south
>
[Wehnimer's, Talon St.]
The street runs between the northern palisade and the central square to the south and east. The traffic is varied here, as shoppers, traders, travelers and merchants mix with the ever-present and watchful militiamen. Rowdy cries and raucous laughter, as well as some oddly unidentifiable sounds, emanate from behind the drawn curtains of Cholgar's Bathhouse, which occupies nearly the entire block. You also see a ruined wooden rolton with a dilapidated sign on it.
Obvious paths: north, south
>
[Wehnimer's, North Ring Rd.]
The road turns gradually at this point as it forms the northwest corner of the city. The main path curves along the north and west walls, and another leads south between the buildings. The massive oak and modwir logs of the city palisade tower overhead. You also see a grizzled old warrior and a brightly lit small painted wagon.

[Wehnimer's, North Ring Rd.]
The cobbled road girds the town along the inner side of the northern palisade. Just to the north stand the twin sentinels of the gate's guardtowers. Guardsmen come and go through the main gates, keeping a close eye on the people of all races who move to and fro. Opposite the gates, you see the shop of Dakris the Furrier.
Obvious paths: north, east, west

[Wehnimer's, Land's End Rd.]
Vigilant guardsmen scrutinize the citizens and travelers arriving and departing through the wide gateway spanning the land route into Wehnimer's Landing. The frenetic pace of the city to the south is a far cry from the deceptive calm of the wilds of Elanith outside. Two daunting towers survey the countryside and protect the town, flanking the road to the east and west. You also see a wooden barrel.

[Wehnimer's, Outside Gate]
Citizens, merchants and assorted dregs of society jostle against you before the great wooden gates of Wehnimer's Landing. Harried guards and militiamen try to keep the chaos to a minimum, but it is hard to keep track of those entering, let alone leaving, this large trading post. A dirt path encircling the wooden palisade of the town leads east and southwest. Nailed prominently to the wooden wall beside the gate is a sign you really should read. You also see a massive wheeled tower and a Wayside Inn.

>l alba
You see Albacora.
She appears to be a Dark Elf.
She appears to be very young and very tall. She has bright dark eyes and brown skin. She has a bald head.
She appears to be DEAD!
She has developed slurred speech.
She has a red banded villswood arrow stuck in her right eye.
She is holding a wire-hilted mithril foil in her right hand and a reinforced shield in her left hand.
She is wearing a nut brown skirt, a green shamrock, a small silver star, a dark grey scarf, a belled suede fool's cap, some brigandine armor, a tarnished anklet, a tourmaline studded hat pin, a stained orange bodice, a dusty violet armband, a crystal amulet, a shiny red sunstone earring, a large red sack, a bone-clasped forest green backpack, a fiery red belt, a shiny bracelet, a wrinkled serge scabbard, a gak wool robe, a bent medallion, a ragged thrak hide sash, a pale white chambray sheath, a gold ring, and a delicate brass bracelet.

Now, I can understand dragging someone who's apparently AFK dead/Ghosting out of town to rot because you don't like them/hate them etc. What I think is kind of lame is taking the time to heal them up, and getting the EXP from them before you drag their ass out to rot. It seems kinda lame. If your character hates them that much that you'd actively work to have them rot, would you really want to heal them?

Now I could be wrong, and those two could have a good reason for dragging Albacora out of town and I'm not thinking of it.

What I always found most hilarious (and simultaneously most annoying) about that name was Policy page 6 -- reguarding names.

- Silly or out of genre names. (Frogeater Tongueodeath, Bumblebee Tunahead)
- Names created specifically to mock current players.
- Names too similar to names of Staff members or NPCs in game.
- Odd punctuation or capitalization. (Fragel DeLYon)

There I am, minding my own business tossing fruit at Alba who was in the stocks yet AGAIN, when Emislity shows up and she calls her mom. Now I have had problems with Alba stealing from my empath as well as Ando, so I am not a fan. I make a comment to someone in the room that now I know where Alba gets her upbringing... her parents didn't train her right. I mean come on... if you are going to claim to be a parent then you should be open to those who think you did a BAD job. So it seems I upset her almighty mother, and she tells me to watch my tongue. I could have left it alone, but I was in a RP'ing mood, so I simply asked a question, being the Dhe'nar I am, on the net, and this is what happened...

You [General]: "Someone explain how a human can spawn a dark elf please? I know it was a mistake in general, but I am just curious?"

(I mean sweet jesus... Dark Elves have always thought other races are beneath them)

Caegteme [General]: "'perhaps they."

Caegteme [General]: "'perhaps they're adopted."

Zzentar [General]: "One might want to watch what they say about dark elves, you never know who might be listening."

You [General]: "No, I believe that the spawn known as Albacora is in fact Emislity's child, you can see by the breeding. Just curious what dark elf got drunk in order to mate with her."

(if you seriously look at Simu's documents about them, they DO NOT mix with other races... not even by adoption!)

Emislity [General]: "Why don't you stop talking trash and ask Emislity yourself?"

(talking about herself in the third person...)

Albacora [General]: "Thats gross im adopted."

You [General]: "Oh, I'm sorry dear... I didn't know you could think for yourself."

(Dhe'nar Dark Elf... hellooo?! We think all races are beneath us???)

Emislity [General]: "Well it's much more than what you can do for yourself apparently."

Deucix [General]: "You best watch your tongue, my friend."

You [General]: "Ohhh, snappy human comeback there."

Deucix [General]: "Do you have a problem with humans as well?"

Sevris [Merchant]: "Hey dont dis the bards."

Hilts [General]: "Your one dumb little kid andovaria."

You [General]: "No, they make great pets."

(again... Dhe'nar elf? I was ROLEPLAYING)

Emislity [General]: "Andovaria here's some information since you're so inclined to need to KNOW MY BUSINESS."

You [General]: "Come now Hilts, act your age, not your IQ."

Defeat [General]: "Andovaria, you are making some very unwise choices here."

Sevris [Merchant]: "I have a feeling andovaria just wrote off on her own death."

(I am shaking *snicker*)

Emislity [General]: "Albacora adopted Xeromist and I about a month ago, we didn't argue with it, and just say so be it. IT's not about mating with anyone. Since your'e so damn nosey and have to know everything, there's your information. Kind you to stay out of my business though, or I'll be more than happy to make my songs become yours."

You [General]: "Oh please no... I do not need to know your business. I do not want my mind defiled by it."

Emislity [General]: "Then shut your damn mouth."

Sevris [Merchant]: "Andovariawant to pull your head out of your arse?"

Aaren [Merchant]: "How about you all shut your damn mouths, or take it private, or in person please?"

(at this point I hushed because someone rather rudely asked us to)

Hilts [General]: "Children these days are really mouthy for some reason."

Defeat [General]: "Aye, its a shame thats not something even empaths can remedy."

Hilts [General]: "Yeah..."

So now Andovaria is going to be hunted by this group of Emislity loving people, and I'm sure I am afraid of them somewhere in my soul. But honestly, I play a Dhe'nar Dark Elf as I stated above and she does not believe that her race should claim to be the parents or offspring of any other race.

As a side note, Andovaria was drug away by Albacora so her mommy could kill me. I found this comment from Alba's father to be more than funny...

Sevris softly says, "I hate the smell of fsh."
>
Albacora just went east.

In the room were the following people, some were either there when I was drug in or showed up...

Also here: Daemas, Jeril, Emislity, Lord Sevris
High Lady Sorchia just arrived.
Great Lord Hilts just arrived.
Draccor stares off into space. (not sure when he came in)
Khalypso steps out of the rift.
Herod steps out of the rift.
Gracy was there at one point as well...

After Emislity had her 'crew' there... this happened...

A quartet of burly deputies bursts in, closely followed by the night watchman.

With great ease, the night watchman grabs Albacora and shackles her wrists.

"I have you now! You best come along quietly, or you'll face the consequences," says the night watchman.
The night watchman then drags her off.

For fucks sake, I was RP'ing a high and mighty Dhe'nar and upset some people who did not seem to understand this. All I got was threats and comments about being leashed... *sigh* some people just don't get it.

Thing is, while I wouldn't have resorted to violence in response, and clearly Emislity and crew don't have the best reputation for roleplaying or even for having common sense, I sincerely hope that you don't expect to not have consequences (possibly violent depending on who you've insulted and how that character would react) just because "I'm a Dhe'nar, I'm supposed to be high and mighty and talk shit".

Long story short, its great that you are roleplaying your character, and wonderful that you like to use the documentation as a basis for your roleplay, but don't expect that every character you interact with in this manner will just laugh it off, or even just respond back with insults in kind. Sometimes you'll get your ass handed to you, and that's a chance you must take when playing a character who is 'high and mighty' no matter what race or train.

I can honestly say that I know full well what I got into with this. It would not surprise me if I do get my ass handed to me... but you know, it is all part of being someone who RP's. And if it does end badly, I brought it on myself. But hell, I thought that is what GS is here for, to RP and enjoy doing it. I will not excuse Andovaria's actions tonight, she was doing what she needed to do.

Ok news flash.. Dhe'nar DO think they are above everyone else.. however the ones who RP it out well.. Evarin, Xandalf.. etc.. don't BOTHER with TELLING other people that they are better.. because their char's could give a DAMN what other people think. Dhe'nar rarely feel the need to stand there and say "I am better than you because you are an (insert lesser race here). I mean really.. thats a light elf thing *snickers*. Besides.. they KNOW they are.. why bother with what someone else thinks? Instead we would USUALLY just ignore them like the subpar trash they are UNLESS they either got in our face.. or we felt the need for amusement. Playing a Dhe'nar requires a little more sublty (pardon my spelling) than what you are showing. Selecting Dhe'nar for a culture doesn't mean that you can automatically stand there and be an asshole to other people because RPwise you are supposed to think they are dirt.. rather.. the concept is that you aren't interested (for the most part) in what other races are doing.. unless it affects you or your brethren or it can benefit you in some way. At least that was always MY take on how we dealt with other races.

Hey now, you leave us out of this!

I can only speak for myself on this case, though. Lisera does believe Elves are superior to other races, but she finds it extremely foolish to tell anyone who happens to be of one of those races. They can be entertaining, and might even prove useful to her in certain endeavors or political maneuvers. In fact, she's often the one who will try to appear sympathetic to someone if they feel like they're being persecuted by other Elves, because the other person might be more willing to work with her in the future.

Yes, she believes (or knows) that Elves are superior, but why would she tell them that? It'd be like me laughing at my dog because I think I'm superior. It just doesn't make sense. Honestly, I can't remember the last time she's ever said someone else is a lesser, or if she's said it at all. To me, something like that would be left unsaid, but generally understood.

Amusingly, Lisera is rather bored of the endless racial debates that everyone seems to get into. Most of the fights I see about racism have been started by the people who feel they're the ones being persecuted. It's like it's all people can see when someone tries to roleplay an Elf according to the documentation.

I know I did a double take when I saw some Simucon 2007 pictures and saw Ciston/Ken and Sorchia's original player and then ame under her was Albacora. And then the next picture in line was a picture with some blonde and said "Sorchia" under her!

I thought wow, how amusing you have the real Sorchia's player and the new owner of Sorchia both at Simucon. Then I started hearing about how Albacora is a real little shit in the game and I thought that was to bad. She used to be fun to be around and a decent role-player when she wanted to be.

I had dinner at the sushi place with Albacora's player. We talked about how it was funny she met the person who has Sorchia. They talked for a bit I understand. At one point the new Sorchia gave the old her name tag.
I do not remember all we talked about as that plum wine was too good and I drank way too much of it.

It was a fun time as I had never had sushi before (sad I know).

I had a great time talking with her and Ken a couple of times as well.

She may play her characters differently than most would think but I had a blast talking with her.

Ken is a good guy. He's had some health problems in the past year, if I had heart issues and was a little worse for the wear I'd be pretty upset if I got described as "creepy" as a result.

On the other hand, he's a bajillionaire and probably doesn't give a shit:)

People send me links at times Gretchen and I read em and then I'll think maybe I should post. Then I just get side tracked and forget and don't bother. Then when I thought about it I'd recall that I forgot the password on the past SN and then never bother to start a new one.

Since I was recently following the GS bbs briefly and happened to catch that thread about the AFK Script warning that was so badly handled by GM Itzel I decided that I couldn't resist posting here when I saw the thread here as well.

I'm sure GM Itzel is a nice person and all but she screwed up in my opinion of her handling of that afk script check. Seems to me she didn't understand how it all works nor how policy was meant to be enforced.

Basically that warning should be tossed to the side and the player apologized to, though I'm starting to think that that won't happen after all. Does not matter if the guy had been warned for scripting once prior or ten times, what matter was how that particular situation was handled. Which is in a word, "Wrong".

And to be more on topic, here's the link to the pictures that show Ken/Ciston and Albacora(who was the original Sorchia) and one picture after that is a picture of new player of Sorchia.

Albacora takes a bite of her daggerstalk mushroom.
Albacora suddenly looks very ill.

(Multiply this by about 50 times)

Albacora says, "Uh."

You glance at Albacora.

Albacora says, "Cool."

You raise an eyebrow in Albacora's direction.

You ask, "Is there something wrong with you?"

Albacora says, "Its an experiment."

Albacora says, "And you have no idea what a rush it is."

Albacora says, "Want to try it."

You say, "I do not have a death wish....but I can help you along, if you do."

Albacora says, "Id rather do it so i get all the credit."

Albacora says, "Im gonna beat it."

You say, "Or...how about this. You can try NOT eating poisonous mushrooms. It's not as if they're flinging themselves down your throat."

Albacora says, "It was irresistable."

Albacora says, "Are you an empath."

You say, "I have no cure for your particular brand of insanity, if that is what you're asking."
