Yeah, you're hunting in the Bowels, right? Empathic Assault will ignite the gas there, just like Fire Spirit.

Until 1115 comes out, a pure caster empath pretty much can't hunt there, except with wands.

Well that sucked. But I survived, healed up, and continued to use bane until I fogged out. That was the only time it ignited on me in that room.

It did suprise me though.

Hmm. Do you use Purify Air in the Bowels? The gas doesn't affect you then, but then you also don't see the messaging telling you it's building up in the room. (it's colorless gas...in the Bowels. The GMs have an interesting sense of humor.)

I've not hunted there myself (I've only seen logs and read the posts about it), but my impression was that the gas builds up a lot more frequently than what you stated above. If what happened to you is the case, then it doesn't sound so bad to hunt there.

Its not my normal hunting area, I was just there on a rescue. I did not have purify air up and have never suffered from any gas effects until it ignited from my spell that time.

Gas in the bowels is quite funny from a design perspective.
