I considered it to be a honest and profound read.
Apparently several US Army instructors (in the classrooms) cancelled a day's lessons to discuss this essay in class which has circulated around the US Army (no indications if the active officer would be reprimanded).
Discusses very well how the US Army neglected to appreciate the lessons of Vietnam and spent far too much of the 1990s preparing for conventional warfare.
