Unprofessional, but I agree with her.

How much coverage does she get over in the UK Stray? I see articles in your papers but does TV cover her?

The Ponzzz

Hah, she went a little overboard about NOT wanting to do it, but still hilarious.

She won't lead the news unless nothing at all in the rest of the world has happened. Certainly not. In fact they haven't really mentioned her at all. Never do. The rag's however like to give her a lot of attention.

I mostly watch the financial news networks and still can't get away from her. Neil Cavuto particularly likes to cover her, but I give him a pass because he's a boxing fan and has a lot of boxers on his program.

“I’m mad as hell and I’m not gonna take it anymore!”

Good for her. Take a stand. But I did find Scarboroughs comments pretty funny.

She clearly had that all planned out, and they still lead with it even if they didnt discuss details.

That. Was. Awesome.

I hope the next story regarding this is "Newswoman is fired for refusing to do her job."

This is probably the most viewers MSNBC has had in a long time. She's much like most hosts of that network... unprofessional and using their time to promote their own agenda.

Way to find a way to make a name for yourself at Paris Hilton's expense.:)

Heh.

CrystalTears

Expense? Pft. Not saying the story but going on about not covering her is still giving Paris free publicity. Paris is not losing out on anything.

Ilvane

That's not what I meant. I meant..way to bring attention to Paris Hilton by saying "I don't want to cover her" ..so making herself more well known at Paris' expense.

I know you like to jump on what I say no matter what, but that wasn't what I meant.

She was merely apologizing at first for LEADING with it, but then her co-hosts goaded her into not doing it.

And I don't care - buck the system!

Oh god yeah..I think I've seen enough Paris Hilton to last me for a lifetime.

What other person who goes to jail for 23 days for a violation like hers gets coverage like this? LOL

Waste of time.

That's the funniest thing I've seen in a while. If that wasn't pre-planned, kudos to her.

Good, Paris Hilton isn't leading news and it's about time someone in the media isn't trying to cash in on her sorry excuse of a life.

I found it really cute that she couldn't work a lighter.

It's about time for Paris to pull an Anna Nicole.

How was she not doing her job? Do you honestly think "dumb ass rich bitch released" should lead every news broadcast? If you do, well, do us all a favor and start up the family car in the garage and close off all sources of ventilation ... then proceed to breath deeply.

It sucks that more anchors aren't doing the same with these bullshit fluff pieces.

Reporter Hailed for Killing Hilton Story (http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D8Q8HMAG0&show_article=1&cat=0)

She attracted the world's attention. Brzezinski's gotten over a thousand e-mails, and was named "woman of the week" by a British Web site. She's been invited to address a media symposium in Scotland. The New Zealand Herald hailed her: "Deliberate or not, there is no denying the incident struck a chord with viewers the world over. When it comes to Paris, we've all had enough."

It may be a coincidence, but three days after the incident MSNBC told Brzezinski that she'll have a regular hour to anchor the news each morning.

Since when is it the anchor's responsibility to direct the news and decide which story is supposed to lead and not lead? That's like a Night Auditor coming into your office and telling you that your hotel will no longer be accepting American Express because the fees are far too high.

It's not her job to decide.. it's her job to do what the producer tells her to do.

in this case, her producer was a dumbass. Just like in the military, if your CO gives you an immoral order, you're obligated not to follow it. ;)

Immoral? I thought it was only an unlawful order that you could refuse without fear of punishment from the UCMJ.

TheEschaton

Nope, immoral orders can't/shouldn't be followed either.

Which is hilarious because they A) don't teach morality to PFCs, GIs, whatever, and B) they teach their officers a morality which I happen to disagree with.

A) is obviously the more pressing concern - if you don't instill a morality in your soldiers, how can they know to disobey an immoral action?
