I hear people talk about Blockbusters and promos for in-store rentals, and people just don't get that the point of the online renting is not have to go in the store at all. Some people like to actually pick up and glance at the DVD, and that's fine. But for the most part, I'd rather not have to ever go in the store.

I see your point, but the ability to drop off an online rental and get my next disc THAT much quicker is nice. I don't have to, but it's my choice. I dunno, I figure I'll give this month a try, see how quick they are, and then try and find a Netflix deal again.

The blockbuster by my house never has anything worth renting that being said I had the same netflix DVDs sitting on my shelf forgetting to mail them for a year. What a waste of money.

I really enjoyed Netflix when I was using it. I stopped my subscription for a bit cause I had a lot of crap going on and I was wasting the money cause I wasn't watching the dvds.

I just had the 1 movie out at a time plan and it worked great. The Netflix subscription center was in FL so it was really quick getting the movies.

I thought the Blockbuster thing worked exactly like Netflix AND you could go to the store if you wanted to? It seemed like it was better than Netflix in that respect.

Exactly right Bob, which is why I did it. I can mail that movie back if I'm lazy and don't mind waiting to queue another movie, or I can drop it off around the block and instantly get one. Also, every month they give you 1-2 free coupons which can be used for in-store movie rentals or....the best part...games. Renting PS or Xbox games is about 5 bucks a pop. Two of those coupons a month alone is almost paying for the sub.

The main one here is in Hartford which is an hour away from me. However I've gotten movies from Massachusetts and Kentucky and the mailing time wasn't any different.

As an update, I received the movies next day, all 3 of them. I watched two, returned them, and before they even arrived at the facility in Stamford, CT (little over an hour away) they showed up as returned on my Q and two others shipped. I am extremely happy with this service. Not to mention I've already received 2 free in-store rental coupons, good for movies or games ($7.99 value).

Think I'm gonna stick with Blockbuster even though I've heard great things about Netflix.

Blockbuster can ship same day sometimes, but they're inconsistent. Netflix is same day, every time. If you don't mind waiting a day or two sometimes, and the ability to trade in instead makes up the difference, then go for blockbuster. I personally hate blockbuster, but who cares.

the only good thing about Blockbuster is that you can go to the store and get new movies whenever you want. I personally hate Blockbuster and it was Netflix that forced them out of their retarded late fee scam.

True but i've been able to knock a few things out of my queue because of it. My only beef with it is that I fell asleep watching a movie and i wanted to finish it so i had to use another 1.5 hours of my time to get it again.

i like using blockbuster because I'm not particularly fast at watching my movies anyhow, so speed isn't an issue for me(though I will say Blockbuster gets my movies to me quickly it seems anyhow)...but I enjoy being able to drop a movie off and pick up another one, on or off my list, immediately.

nextflix lets you "instantly stream" movies that they've converted (I think ~3000 so far). You get 1 hour per $1 a month you pay in fees (no inlc. tax) so if you have the 3 out plan you pay like 17.99 or something so you get 18 hours a month of streaming time.

3 levels of quality based on your connection (basic, good, high). Basic quality (the lowest) isn't the greatest but I have no complaints.

Can't say they newest movies are out for the movie streaming but I did watch season two of the office which had me cracking up.

I left netflix for blockbuster, i love it... every time i return my 3 movies i can get three more for free... it's like doubling my movies

Blockbuster is only worthwhile if you've got a Blockbuster right near you (as in, less than a 10 minute drive). And considering Blockbuster recently closed a huge chunk of their stores, that's less likely than it used to be.

Otherwise, Netflix is superior.
