What's the job entail?
If you like, give your qualifications.
Are you comfortable in your job / is there security?

This could be a sensitive subject but definately something I've wondered about all of you.

The subject mainly interests me since you all seem to know quite a bit about office politics etc.

Where do you work, if you work? I work in Houston, no specifics (stalker!).

What's the job entail? Land and Title research and escrow, residential and commercial (closing).

If you like, give your qualifications. Licensed by Texas Dept. of Insurance, Escrow Liscense. College degree preferred. I have a degree (BS Economics).

Are you comfortable in your job / is there security? Love the job. Land is always being bought and sold. Great job security. The company I work for is a major player in land and title - so great resources available due to its size. My goal is to get them to subsidize my law school tuition once I get in, then I'll turn around and work for either their offshoot firm or work with the actual guaranty/insurance division in underwriting.

This could be a sensitive subject but definately something I've wondered about all of you. Stalker! ;)

The subject mainly interests me since you all seem to know quite a bit about office politics etc. Been a department/divisional manager for a number of years with various companies (law enforcement/prisons, warehouse, healthcare, IT). Office politics sucks, what sucks worse is that in most cases you have to play it.

I currently work as an investigator for a U.S. government agency. I enjoy my job because it is extremely flexible, and because each day is different.

I'm also a part time law school student who is slightly over halfway done with law school.

Sorry for the relatively short reply.

Where do you work, if you work?
Burger King

What's the job entail?
Head Cashier, usually lunch (busiest shift of the day), it's mostly customer service and cash handling, but I help out with expediting (putting the food in bags/on trays and giving them to customers/drive-thru cashier), drive-thru, cleaning the dining room when it isn't busy, re-stocking the small salad/bottled water fridge behind me, helping unload when the truck comes twice a week.

If you like, give your qualifications.
I've done about 10 years of various temp-work - marketing secretary, personal secretary, town engineer's office, general secretary, etc. 20 more years in Customer Service/Retail. I'm overqualified for a cashier's job, with a BS in Mass Communications, CompTIA A+ Computer Technician certification, MS Pro certification, Certified Aromatherapist and Certified Mixologist (bartender). I also have my OSHA cert and a few nursing specialties certs, and I have my sailing certificate for small craft. I just like school :)

Are you comfortable in your job / is there security?
They won't fire me because the customers make a fuss even when I'm on vacation for a week. The two times I've walked out on the job, the store lost between 40% and 50% of their regular lunch customers the day after they all found out I had left. So - security is based on my value to the company, and the customers are the ones who determine value, and they've decided I'm valueable enough to keep around. If I ever stop being valueable to them, then my security would go right out the window. I'm comfortable enough to stay with it but like all jobs, it has its good days and bad days, and its downsides and its perks. What I love most about it is the customer interaction, and the close proximity to home (a long walk, but do-able, bicycle in good weather).

Where do you work, if you work? I work with the DFTS for the MoD

What's the job entail? Preparing emergency services for crashing helicopters, the passing of sensitive information, co-design of central and overseas attachments, Pie charts, bar graphs, briefcases and avoiding political catastrophies within the offices from merely stating you can shoot a black Scottish person in York, England with a bow and arrow due to lack of law overhaul.

If you like, give your qualifications. Spanish, German, French (laugh it up) Fine art and graphic design BA

Are you comfortable in your job / is there security? not comfy yet but there is security eventually depending on my success.

I worked a similar job afew years ago (customer services) within a local company called Argos. You may have heard of it, it's basicly ikea but with toys lol.
I was massively overqualified but there was no chance of anything else out there so I had to take it. Eventually I loved dealing with people and didn't want to leave.
It's excellent that you can either walk or bike it. it's a save on gym bills or an addition to your exercise on it's own.

I'm glad you like what you're doing. So long as we get enough dough to make the bills it's good.
You should keep your eye out for a job which would employ your qualifications though. I'm sure it'd mean being stuck in an office but the pay might be a bit better.
Heh, saying that I miss my old jobs.
They were gratifying in their simplicity.

You don't really have to answer me because it is a pretty personal question, but I'm just curious as I have a friend whose mother works at McDonald's, and has for like 15 years and they are doing pretty good. I have always wondered how much she makes but was to embarrassed to ask her because it is rude and she might take it as a insult which is not what I am trying to do.

Where do you work, if you work?

Currently, I'm working in Manhattan (NYC) for the District Attorney's Office of NY County (Manhattan, duh), for the summer as an intern, with the hopes I will come back full time when I graduate from law school. Other than that, I'm a full time law school student.

What's the job entail?

I'm in the Special Prosecutions Bureau, which means we handle solely embezzlement and fraud cases. Basically, a civilian can come in, complain to our office. If we think the complaint has merit, we'll investigate (anywhere from a week to 5 years, which is our current longest-running investigation) and possibly indict/prosecute some white collar thieves. As not-quite-a-lawyer, I help with everything but actually speaking in front of the judge (which you need to be a lawyer to do). I've got open investigations, which mainly deal with pouring over financial statements, tracking money, subpoenaing credit card companies, etc. I interview witnesses, and even sometimes suspects. I prepare legal memoranda on the issues of law and whether we can prove our case. And so on, so forth.

If you like, give your qualifications.

Errr, got my bachelor's degree in Computer Science (not very typical for the field, I'll say), and I'm currently working on my Juris Doctor (JD), like Khariz. I might pick up an MPP (Masters in Public Policy), but it's definitely not required to do what I do, it's just something that's for myself.

Are you comfortable in your job / is there security?

I love my job. I get to prosecute white collar scum who embezzle money from hardworking folks (or...banks, whatever). Security? Traditionally, half of the incoming class of ADAs come from their summer intern program. So, I hope so.

Where do you work, if you work?
I work in Colorado Springs. From my house. ...which is awesome, cause I love my pajamas.

What's the job entail?
I'm a Title Abstractor, so I research properties to see who owns them, how many trusts they have open, if said people have judgments against them and the like. However, I'm working for my mom who has her own business in VA. So I only do her online counties, but still. Lotsa info online.

I had to go live with her for a couple months and live the job, basically. From 7 in the morning till normally like 11pm, we'd do this work. It was good times.

I'm very comfortable, and yes there is security. It's sad that I make more now than I did during my six years in the air force. ;>

I don’t work in an office any longer but I will use my last experience to answer these questions.

Where do you work, if you work?

A boutique PR firm in DC. 9-6, business dress. My position was with the in-house design department. We produced all the advertising, logos, brochures, web sites, and whatever else you can think of to promote our clients or the issues they wanted to promote.

What's the job entail?

Knowledge of print, prepress, HTML, Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, computer literate, creativity, design sense, typography, craftsmanship (to create mock-ups of products) and brainstorming.

If you like, give your qualifications.

Over 20 years working in print, 10 years computer prepress, 7 years in HTML, completed Advanced Graphic Design at college, radical thinking, team player, attention to detail, gives 110%.

Are you comfortable in your job / is there security?

Yes. When I left the first time, my boss could not replace me. Now that I have left for the second time, she still is having trouble replacing me. Not many people have the prepress/computer/HTML experience that I have. Plus, I’m such a likable guy. :)

I'm still in college, and I'm currently taking classes to go into forensic sciences or criminal investigations in some form. My dream job would be to become a criminal profiler and I've been reading books by John Douglas and Robert Ressler for now until I can find a formal course of study to go into that field. If I can't do that, I'll be pursuing a career as a crime scene tech or criminal investigator.

I just finished up a 3 week-long course offered by Shippensburg University as an introduction to forensic sciences and crime scene investigation, after which we held a week-long camp for high school students. The course was taught almost exclusively by professionals in the field, including forensic chemists, the county coroner, a forensic entomologist, a crime scene photographer, a fingerprint examiner with over 30 years of experience who helped set up the AFIS system, even the West Virginia Bioterrorism Response Coordinator.

At the end of our part of the course, we processed a simulated crime scene, and the local TV station showed up to do a piece on it. (http://www.abc27.com/news/stories/0607/429622.html) At least three newspapers and another TV station also covered the class or high school camp in some form. It was, in all honesty, one of the best months I've ever had in my life, even if I did collect maggots off of a decomposing 600-pound pig. (Strangely enough, the pig didn't bother me.)

It's taken me a while to find out what I want to do for my career, but I'll have to say that I'm fully in love with everything I've been doing in the area, and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

Gretchen

Where do you work, if you work?
student again and working part time at an environmental engineering company based out of the Philadelphia area.

What's the job entail?
Our company specializes in bulk storage tanks for gasoline and various chemicals. We do consulting work all over the country, have been able to travel a good deal with ExxonMobil's penny at this job. I also do a lot of AutoCAD drawings for clients.

If you like, give your qualifications.
High school graduate, done some college. certified mixologist(props to the bartenders)

Are you comfortable in your job / is there security?
Dont mind the job, just want to finish school before I settle into the job too much. Job security is great, environmental engineers(my degree) are going to be in demand for a long time to come.

Where do you work, if you work? Home now. I'm a writer, I write for a number of boxing publications and do freelance work in a number of other fields. I'm working on a screenplay which I have a buyer for currently which occupies most of my time. I previously worked as a chief engineer at a speaker design company and then as Vice President of an Audio/Video exporter in the Caribbean.
What's the job entail? Lots of boredom between brief moments of inspiration, then slogging out the details.
If you like, give your qualifications. Mostly that (I'd like to think), I'm good at it.
Are you comfortable in your job / is there security? No security, but I'm still young, no family to support so it's ok.

Where do you work, if you work? Independant Contractor for Kodak - New Business Development(NBD)

What's the job entail? Sales of large print presses for SRC.

If you like, give your qualifications. A solid track record of closing sales over the phone and in person.

Are you comfortable in your job / is there security? I am comfortable IN my job, as in, I feel I do a great job for them. However, job security is close to zero. As most sales positions I have gone through, the weak are fired/laid off.

However, it was interesting what i read in the paper the other day. I am sitting here, reading the local paper and I read, Kodak to lay off, again! I'm sitting here going, damn, I WORK AT KODAK. I keep reading... Unfortunately, in order for Kodak to keep producing, Kodak will be laying off the majority of their NBD! So I'm like WTMF!? I'm NBD!

I brought it to my bosses attention the other day, brought the article in and everything, and he had not heard a single thing. But I confirmed there are only 3 offices of NBD in my area, so atleast ONE office will be wiped out.

Starting to suck, because I'm bouncing from job to job hoping for security. And Kodak had already laid off so many, I figured employment was back on the rise for them.

So, I will be looking for work out of New York State in case of the lay off.

Hips

Where do you work, if you work?

I work as a boarding agent for ships that come into the port of New York.

What's the job entail?

I set up a ship to come into port, arrange for pilots, tug boats, and linemen for it to go to a terminal. I prepare all the paperwork to enter and clear the vessel for U.S. Customs. While the ship is in port, I keep the owners and ship charterers informed of all the vessel's movements, and send out cargo documents upon completion. Strange hours, but by far the best job I've ever had.

If you like, give your qualifications.

A bachelor's degree is required for this job, preferably in a maritime field.

Are you comfortable in your job / is there security?

Yes, and yes. This company is a nation-wide family run corperation that REALLY takes care of its employees. As long as you do your job well, you're pretty much guaranteed a job for life.

2nd Battalion 3rd Marines

What's the job entail?
I'm in the infantry. It entails waking up early in the morning for formation, waiting around until we start training. Then waiting around after we are done training. Then going to the Company area and waiting around for formation. Then doing some odd task that we get assigned. Then waiting around for formation at the company area. Then waiting around until final word is passed, and repeating the next day. When in a forward area, it entails patroling in streets, checking people houses, setting up traffic check points, being QRF, etc.

I would recommend social work in the healthcare sector, but that might require a little more compassion than what has been illustrated at least here on the PC... ;) I know here in the US, if you really want to get anywhere in socialwork you need at least a masters degree.

I have always wondered how much she makes but was to embarrassed to ask her because it is rude and she might take it as a insult which is not what I am trying to do.

Well since I'm not "management" and I am strictly part-time by my own request, my bi-weekly paycheck is pretty horrible. If I needed money I would definitely not work for fast food, and return to the corporate grind. It pays for my groceries, smokes, gas, and books (I buy 1-2 paperbacks every week), which leaves more room for hubby's salary to cover vacations and dinners out and things like that.

Hourly though, I make $8.15/hour. Minimum wage here was $7.15 when I started 3 years ago, but they started me at $7.50 because I had experience. That's only 65 cents in raises over a 3-year period, but they usually only give 15 cents a year because - it's fast food, and the owner of our franchise is a cheap tightwad asshole. Fortunately I rarely have to see him since he's usually busy working at one of his other stores :)

One of the shift-managers (assistant managers they're called in other places) usually clears $500/week. She doesn't get paid -that- much more than I do but she works more hours in one week, than I do in two weeks.

My average paycheck is around $400, which comes every other week. Not too bad for part time, but I wouldn't want to have to live off of that.

I consider myself "retired" from the work world though, and use this job as my main source of socialization with people; a reason to leave the house.

Where do you work, if you work? Local Authority
What's the job entail? Legalised kidnapper (Child Protection)
If you like, give your qualifications. BSc (Hons) Sociology and Social Work
Are you comfortable in your job / is there security? Comfortable? No. It is shit. Local Authorities believe "best value" means "cheapest option" so people are getting screwed over left right and centre. Security? Yeah, unfortunately. I half hope to get sacked so I can be spurred into finding a different career path. Never happens when you are earning a regular wage though. For me anyway.

The fact that you work for CPS explains a lot about your personality. <no insult intended>

Where do you work, if you work? I work for a company that provides services in the community for people with mental retardation.

What's the job entail? The company is currently spread over 16 counties throughout Ohio. I'm the director for the county I'm in. I'm in charge of all decisions within the county. My office staff includes a receptionist / secretary, an office manager, 2 HR people, 5 supervisors who each have a caseload of 10-12 individuals, and a scheduler. The supervisors inturn support a staff of over 100 direct care workers who are out in the field. I spend most of my days shuffling paperwork, negotiating contracts with our county, and putting out fires.

If you like, give your qualifications. I have a BA in Psychology and 6 years experience in the field. <I was lucky to get the job I have at this age>

Are you comfortable in your job / is there security? Love my job and the company only continues to grow so the security feels pretty good at the moment.

Where do you work, if you work?
I'm a Community RN and I work based at a surgery in Suffolk, however I visit patients in their own homes or residential/nursing homes.

What's the job entail?
Assessing, planning and implementing care. A lot of tissue viability, management of leg and pressure ulcers, administration of PO medication where care staff are unable to (so basically any injections, PR or PV medication), providing support for patients, families, carers and nursing assistants to ensure terminal patients who wish to die at home are able to do so... This includes popping round for chats, setting up syringe drivers and renewing them daily etc. We also manage urethral and supra-pubic catheters in the community, changing them etc, we manage percutaneous endoscopic feeding regimes and loads more. Luckily, we don't do any washing or ass wiping! ;) I seem to spend 2-3 hours a day doing paper work though which sucks. Lot’s of filling in assessment forms, writing up notes and then adding them to the computerised notes system! Ugh!

If you like, give your qualifications.
I have a BA in Sociology, I'm a Registered Nurse and I have a Masters in Adult Nursing. I’ve done courses on gastro-intestinal systems, management of lymphoedema and compression therapy so far. Hoping to start my mentorship course this year so I can teach student nurses more effectively.

Are you comfortable in your job / is there security?
Love my job, its fab. There's definitely security within primary/community nursing as there's a big shift to manage patients in the community rather than in hospitals. There isn't much security for a lot of Nurses in hospitals though unfortunately.

What's the job entail? I teach doctors. Give lectures in medical informatics and use of technology to increase clinical efficacy. I also train the rest of the staff in my free time, as well as do sundry tech projects... vba and stuff.

If you like, give your qualifications.
I teach/run the recording studio at Binghamton , and I'm damned good with computers. Merge the two, and that's my job.

Where do you work, if you work?

I work for a IT security services and computer forensics company that has most of its business with the Dept of State. But I am currently 'between assignments' as funding for my contract ended in February and they haven't found a new assignment for me yet.

What's the job entail?

Well my old assignment was runing remote scans of networks at our embassies overseas, with the occasional live inspection. I loved the travel and hated the rest of the job. I did it for the money and easy commute. Currently I do very little.

If you like, give your qualifications.

I have a BS and MS but they're in natural sciences. I do have an MCSE and CISSP though, and a clearance.

Are you comfortable in your job / is there security?

I hate my current assignment of sitting on my ass. It was fun for the first couple of weeks (WoW binge!) but is boring now and I can feel my brain rotting. They have some tasks for me to do here and there but otherwise I basically surf various forums all day. I'm thankful that I'm still getting paid though. In the DC contracting world, it's rare that someone stays on overhead once a contract is over, especially for 4 months.

I have job security in the sense that I could land another job very quickly if I ever lost my job. Clearance plus certifications equals Earl Z. Moade around here. The trick is I very much want to get out of my field but my condo payment limits my ability to experiment with other career paths, that and I'm not sure what I want to do when I grow up. :)

On office politics, I tried to stay out of office politics but I was so good at it that I found myself dragged into meetings as either an 'independent' technical advisor or as an arbitrator. My whole plan was to stay out of those situations, heh.

I'm thinking of going back to this job I had from 1999 to 2004 where I did extensive international travel installing computer systems at US embassies and traning users. It was kinda boring in the day-to-day work sense but the fact that you were in a different country every 2-3 weeks made it interesting. It would also entail a significant pay cut so it's not an easy decision to make.

Where do you work, if you work?

Medium sized (15-20 people) Architectural firm.

What's the job entail?

My business card says project coordinator but hat doesn't mean anything. My job entails interfacing with clients, doing design documents to get approval of concept from the client, doing construction documents and then interfacing with contractors and code officials when it comes to making changes to those construction documents. Since I do both commercial and residential my job also requires me to sit in on boring meetings where people fight about mundane shit like how to make a gutter for whatever building. Lately however it's been a lot of code interpretation and LEED calculations.

If you like, give your qualifications.
You can work in the field with no degree. However if you plan to be licensed in almost every state you are required to have either a BS in Architecture or a BArch. The difference being how long you have to do your IDP for.

Are you comfortable in your job / is there security?

Yea I'm comfortable. I'm the golden boy here at my office. I'm not going anywhere until I decide to leave. Right now I'm doing lower pay for better learning experience towards getting my license.. eventually I'll trade over to higher pay.

Where do you work, if you work?

At a medium-sized high-end art, sculpture, and antiques company in Chicago.

What's the job entail?

I'm a glorified art consultant and my primary focus is project management. What I do is collaborate with team members, interior designers, marketing consultants and (sometimes) architects, depending on the scope of the project, to create design plans for small to large corporate businesses and private collectors. My day to day functions entail working with team members, identifying and resolving project issues, mitigating risks, and estimating time frames on job completion. I also have the pleasure of making sure we don't go over budget. Basically, we provide art and design expertise to businesses and private collectors, and we also design offices based on the specific interests and needs of the business we're serving.

If you like, give your qualifications.

My education has very little to do with my current job actually. I have degree in Psychology and a master's in I/O Psychology. However, I bring 7+ years of experience to the table as it pertains to my current job. I moved up through the ranks as I'm a former employee of one of the companies we contract some of our art from; started working there at 19 performing various jobs pertaining to the art and sculpture industry in sequence; retail sales, customer service, editing, IT, and now as a consultant going on almost 2 years now.

Are you comfortable in your job / is there security?

The job security is great as this business is constantly expanding. I've managed to utilize what I learned in school and incorporate a plethora of those skills into my current job functions, but I'm overqualified for the job.

I'm also comfortable in the respect that I could get another job doing the type of consulting work I went to school for if I wanted, but I'd rather deal with small projects groups and private indivdual and business contacts than give the same lecture over and over and train employees all day long in cramped conference rooms.

I'm not doing what I want career wise and I won't be entirely comfortable and/or satisfied until I'm eventually practicing law.

Large-ish school Corperation, transportation dept.

What's the job entail?

I drive a school bus for special needs kids, hooking up wheelchairs, dealing with behavior issues, various mental problems, cerebral palsey, MD, Learning disablities, etc. Occasionally cleaning up puke or other assorted bodily fluids... yay me

motherhood and CDL class B training for a month, yearly safety meetings and special certs for driving school buses, a great love of children.

Are you comfortable in your job / is there security?
Kids will always need to go to school and there will probably always be special needs children. I love my job, I love the kids, the money pays my bills and the hugs from my kids make getting up so early in the morning worth every minute.

Where do you work, if you work? I work for a Health Care Company in MA.

What's the job entail? I work with doctors to get them credentialed with our company, as well as provide coding and billing information if they need help with processing of medical claims.

If you like, give your qualifications. I have a degree in Organizational Psychology, which comes in handy sometimes, though my other degree is utterly useless here. I've worked at Harvard University with the Boston Medical Library Foundation, and I also worked in the center for health and global environment there too. Those jobs prepared me for my work here. I've been in health insurance since 2001, so it's been a while, and this particular job position(though in the same company)is new to me as of this year.

Are you comfortable in your job / is there security? I'm comfortable here, probably too comfortable. I don't ever see there not being a need for the kind of work that we do, because the health insurance business is always busy, and there is always tons of paperwork to be done. I really like working with doctors and nurses though, so I will probably continue to do this work for a long time.

Telling clients how to supply the proper artwork for press
Prepress stuff, offset, digital, and silkscreen

Light web editing for clients, some video stuff as well

Where do you work, if you work?

Software engineer at Google.

What's the job entail?

12-14 hours a day of craziness. I mostly spend my time finding clever ways of efficiently using hundreds of thousands of computers around the world to solve a wide range of problems involving this beast known as the "Internet". A lot of professors and people of interest come down to give lectures and you try and gain insight from it and use that insight to make the Internet a better place. We have people talking on a day to day basis about brain/computer interaction, graph theory, as well as cool people like Michael Bloomberg who came by on Monday as well as Ben Cohen from Ben & Jerry's. We even had a very interesting author come tell us "How Today's Internet is Killing Our Culture" and I pretty much agreed with a lot of what he had to say.

If you like, give your qualifications.

If you can go through a 4-6 hour interview process solving random mathematical and computational problems, you're considered qualified. While there are technically no formal requirements to work here, you'll find pretty much everyone here has a PhD in either math, computer science, or engineering (I am an exception, but I do plan on eventually getting a PhD). A lot of the time Google will actually post puzzles around on the internet or in various media around the world if you're clever to pick up on the puzzle and solve it, you're guaranteed atleast an interview. You also kind of need to be a little bit off the wall as most people who work here are crazy like that. It's fun, but it's also intense.

Are you comfortable in your job / is there security?

It's kind of hard to be uncomfortable when you get free food and onsite massages whenever you want. Google does its best to keep people as happy as they can even providing free onsite dentists and doctors for employees. As for security, Google struggles to hire more and more engineers as fast as they possibly can, so unless you totally screw up big time, there's no chance of you getting fired or layed off anytime soon.

Plenty of job security but I realize I hate dealing with people, especially morons, and I dislike the pressure of sales. Thinking of moving away from Advisory and into something on the Compliance (regulations) side and even though the CFP would not be used im to close to stop now so after that I will get my Series 9,10.

Where do you work, if you work?

Home, if you can call it work. No personal office on property.

What's the job entail?

Questioning the property manager and occasionally cracking a whip. Aside from that ...

Soliciting high school and collegiate athletic departments for hosting opportunities (sports camps and a place to crash on away matches) and searching for private camps that are shopping for new hosts.

Occasionally attending city board meetings to call them morons.

If you like, give your qualifications.

No qualifications other than I had the opportunity and cash to buy into a start up business. Outside of that, several years of management at various levels in the production industry.

Are you comfortable in your job / is there security?

Aside from a natural disaster, or stoned illegals, demolishing the property, the comfort level is fine. Incompetent locals trying their hands in politics and bored city officials trying to find something to do always raise the probability of the business incurring a quarterly loss.

Where do you work, if you work? Stryker Brigade, Currently Estern baghdad in the last place in Iraq Americans like to go.

What's the job entail? Sneeking around the streets snatching terrorists out of their homes and helping them to understand talking to me is far better for their welfare than keeping their mouths shut. In the process, as the last few weeks have shown, it also includes getting shot at on a nightly basis and having the company rack up 2 or 3 more confirmed kills a day. It also involves shooting back, which however fun, is a pain when youve got a train of 4 detainees trying to play dead fish to drag along to the truck at the end of the road so you can get the heck outta there before more of their buddies try and pick you off.

If you like, give your qualifications. Trained by the army to do the job, with a few special schools on the side (paid for by the army)

Are you comfortable in your job? There is nothing more comfortable than tossing on 60lbs of kit and heading out for a 15 hour walk along the streets going from house to house searching in 120 degree heat, worring about if you turn the next corner that the wires running from the building next to you into the ground is a burried IED, the next house you walk into is going to be rigged to explode, or some guy in a sniper posistion is going to try and poke holes in your face (since they have given up on shooting us in the sappi plates)

is there security? As long as I'm alive I'll never get fired.

Where do you work, if you work? I work at a bakery in my home city. We are a small bakery who produces quality baked goods using natural ingredients and organic flour.
What's the job entail? I am a baker. Though most of my responisbilities are maintaining inventory and stock of our pastries. I make mousses, tarts, cakes, and other seasonal pastries.

If you like, give your qualifications.

My qualifications are experience in bakeries before. I'm an oil painter and that's just turned over into cake decorating.

Are you comfortable in your job / is there security?

I'm fairly comfortable in my job security. I'm fast and efficient and get the job done right, with a lot of attention to detail and taste. I'm fiercly loyal to my employer and even turned down a better paying second job that wanted to make me full time. Though I look for other oppurtinties to expand in the field so I might learn more.
