Ta'Vaalor, you can check in...

I figured I'd post here to piss and moan since no one over at simutronics wants to do anything about it and maybe there is someone with the mutual problem.

I can walk into Ta'Vaalor, wander, use the forge, whatever the case is it's fine. The moment I log in, I cann't log back into him if he was logged in Vaalor. I've written about this on more than one occassion to never receive a response.

You will log in.
Stormfront freezes (don't face this issue with wizard)
Crashes, rinse repeat.

Now mind you it is not only my pc. I've had 3 people log onto the name and have their stormfront crash. Has anyone else had a similiar problem?

Sounds like a map issue... Ta'Vaalor has maps right? Try logging in the wizard, moving out ot Ta'V, log out, back in SF, turn off (or on?) maps, and then go into Ta'V and try logging out/in.

I was just about to say this.

The thing that sucks: I don't believe maps can be turned on/off... unless I've missed it.

Try logging off in Malwith's (the inn/table place two west of VC). I've never had the map window pop up on login when the character I'm logging in with is in Malwith... anywhere else in Vaalor it will, but no in Malwith's. (Which is nice, 'cause I hate those maps.)

I poked around with SF over lunch, and I couldn't find a way to turn them off. (Even turning them "off" in the Window's Panel doesn't work... there's no option in the "Advanced Options" list either.)

In the 'Windows' window of SF you could try turning off 'Maps'.

In addition, if no success, I'd try turning off 'Images' under settings.

Turning off the window doesn't stop it from popping up the window when you move into a place with one. (as I suspect logging in does).

It may be images, but I was under the impression that turning off "use dialog boxes", which pops up annoying windows from everything from the bank to inventory, to what I ate last was what did it.

all I know is that I don't get them anymore, ever, and I have both turned off.

I have no idea how I did it, but I've never seen a single map since I first got the SF.

There's not something under settings? I can't log in but i know there is a way to turn off things popping up on their own. ie. maps
