I've heard about Mandis Shards in forging... whats it do.. and how does that work?

Scripted when you unsheath them, and I think they detected undead in the area when raised or something?

Edit: On second thought, they might have just detected other mandis crystals..

You draw the vultite mattock. It makes a strange sound as it slides from your harness, like the distant scream of a forlorn soul.

The surface of the mattock is a dull and lifeless grey, with pale vein-like lines visible when light is played across it.

At the end of this I should have, at the very least, 14 well-made mattocks that behave like that. I am hoping for at least one superior...and praying for a perfect one. Odds are that I will just end up with a lot fewer silvers in my account and no shards in my locker.

are mandis weapons further enchantable? or do the scripts make them unenchantable?

Pretty sure they can be enchanted, and they're also blessable.

They only detect other mandis Crystals.

I have two longswords Koldeen made me when they were needed during the quest to smash the crystals.

Shouldn't be enchantable, but most definetely blessable

They are enchantable but they can't be detected so they are a real pain to enchant up, hence you don't see many enchanted ones.

Actually I believe the bane weapons forged with a Mandis Shard are NOT firther enchantable and when raised, they tell the location of close by mandis crystals. In addition..they were made to loacate and estroy Mandis crystals..something about only weapons forged with mandis shards could damage Mandis crystals. The first one was dropped from a high spot and shattered...Im going from memory and a bit of rumor here..correct it if you know better. Oh and I have 10 shards in my shop at 1 mil each

In Mestanir, there was a wagon that had the damaged Mandis crystal on it... Several years back, a group of dwarves from Talador tried to destroy it, but failed. They managed to crack it though... A bunch of PC's led a strike team behind Mestanirian lines to try to destroy or capture this crystal.

What happened was, we ended up pushing the cart down a hill, which crashed into this giant Koar statue. The fist of the statue fell off and shattered the Mandis crystal, sending shards all over. Those shards are what made the first Mandis-bane weapons.
