My other forums are having some serious trouble with Spam ad posters
it's a phpbb forum, what can we do to stop them?
we don't want to do the email confirm, anyone know any mods we can put up that will ask a question or something so bots can stop posting?

Convert to MyBB.
They are easy to do (have a beta converter they are working on). Are incredibly easy to mod and work wonders with regards to anti spam.
Best thing I ever did with my forums.

It really doesnt take much to do it...plus the support forums (there are a few of them around) are awesomely helpful.
My forums are for my football team, ladies and girls (youngest team is under 11's) and we were getting bombarded with pornography spam on XMB forums.
MyBB has made life really fucking rosy as a forums admin. I love them.

Yeah I think Kranar put a lot of work into improving the security of the forums (as I recall). Good job.
