What the hell is up with this?

[Solhaven, North Market]
The crush of the crowd is almost overwhelming here in the center of the market. Peddlers wheeling small carts push their way through, shouting loudly. Nearby, a group of dwarves argue heatedly with a local merchant. You also see a small black wardstone ,the Muffinsmith's stall with a large hand-written sign on it, the Small Blades stand, the Belts booth, an old barrel with some stuff on it and a squalid canvas pavilion.
Also here: ......
Obvious paths: north, northeast, east, southeast, south, southwest, west

You gesture.
Your magic fizzles ineffectually.
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.
>look at ward
Roughly pyramid-shaped, the wardstone is a squat little structure covered with bold, dark blue runes.
>prepare 101
You gesture while calling upon the lesser spirits to aid you with the Spirit Warding I spell...
Your spell is ready.
>
cast at ward
You gesture at a small black wardstone.
Your magic fizzles ineffectually.
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.

Added because people bitched about people spelling up in the market on the officials, interrupting their roleplay.

Note that the wardstone does not stop attacks, maneuvers, and thieving. So, rape those pures, folks.

Thats fucking bull shit.. Are they gonna take it down? Thats like warding TSC, Park, Dais, or every other main gathering spot. SIMU if fucking up.

Where on the Forum is this taking place so I can complain immediately!

That appears to be the result of a thread where people complained that the incessant spelling up was creating so much scroll that they can't follow conversations, especially when people are trying to RP the current storyline.

The same line of complaints comes around semi-regularly. Lothwyn's posted that he's trying out a new angle to deal with the situation, and he says he's undecided on if it will stay. Few people think it will be permanent, but the bench and the healing spot has moved south.

As it stands, some people (mostly empaths and clerics) are enraged, while other people (including some other empaths and clerics) say to make the best of the situation, respond to it with RP and adapt for now.

That's messed up, they should really add a "Flag showspam off" to hide all that crap... more realistically a few flags for showing otherspells, group only, etc, turn off crap like music, moving items around, any crap... so if they're not your friend or in your group you don't see all the inane crap.

So complaining does work? I knew it! To bad it only works if it is something totally ridiculous.

Or from the people who suck the GM's cocks (the Sol populace/aka questland).

Does the wardstone have it's own language?

Some dumbass (I will leave out his name) told me it was to stop the shan clerics from fogging there.. I ALMOST asked him "Well what about all the other spots around here?", but I decided that the 5 seconds of interaction with said dumbass was enough for me. Honestly.. it's not really a big deal in some respects.. but come on.. crying about spelling up in the town center is retarded.. and the GMs doing something about it is even MORE retarded.

Nothing says awesome like spreading out the already sparse population of a town.

Flag hidespells {1|2|3|4}

1: You see all spell messages
2: You see only your groups spell messages
3: You see only your own spell messages
4: You see no spell messages.

* Notes:
a) This only applies to spell messages of player characters. You will always see all NPC spell casting.
b) Only applies to defenseive (spellup) type messages. Any offensive spells you will always see.

Problem solved.

Why is this not being implemented? dunno... why aren't there Savants yet?
There's a difference between doing something fast, and doing it right. Simu does far too many things fast because they don't care to take the time to do it right.

I've seen Simu accused of lots of things, but never taking too little time.

On a side note, we need to find out how to mine this stone for portable use.

Only problem is coming into direct contact with the gem removes all spells on the wearer and prevents their use. (note, this is in response to the above comment, and not an actual feature of the stone that I am aware.)
