Runestaff + 2HW Parry?

Anybody have a toon w/ a good number of THW ranks that qualifies for runestaff defense? I'm curious as to your DS w/ a runestaff (can you post your training and offensive/defensive DS, I'll do out the math), I can't imagine the two defenses stack, but sometimes SIMU overlooks some oddities. I imagine it just takes the higher of the two.

Just played with my THW empath. He's below 8 magic ranks/level (1x CM is a bitch), but he had the exact same DS with a quarter staff and a rune staff.

I've heard people say runestaff doesn't "kick in" until after 8 or 9 magic ranks, but I think that's bunk, likely has you as something like the equiv of 0.5x runestaff for parry, so it just takes the greater of the two... thanks for the info. (Now to be able to see the other end of the spectrum... a > 8x magic rank user with 1x or less THW ranks).
