That is fucking disgusting. I swear to God because of my OCD I would set myself on fire or have to be heavily sedated 24 / 7.
Poor bastards.

I'm not entirely sure that this can be for real. I mean...if it's a single type of bug, sure. But multiple different arthopod parasites in a single artificial-preservative full American?

I mean, we all have body bugs on the surface of our skin-lots of them-and they are harmless.

A100x microscope is more than enough to see them.

What's unusual is that our normal parasites don't grow wings and fly away, they operate on the sub-millimeter level. I've seen pleny of bot flies in my day, though they were mostly in cattle or dogs.

The next great epidemic? You go, Fox!

I was able to see the whole thing just now. Must be your ISP or connection.

Looks scary. I hope none of those people live around DC (that's my local Fox channel).

I could see it as a possibility. But then again I see plastics as a greater threat than most things... who knows.

yeah, plastics freak me out, too.

Depressing...

Guess it will indeed take 2 million or so years for the Earth to "heal itself" from human pollution.

Hopefully one day, when we discover a cheap (essentially infinite) source of fuel (as in super-efficient ethanol, cold fussion, etc), we'll take the step of search out such pollutions and dealing with them proactively instead of reactively.

Right now, even though it'd be "the right thing to do", it's "too expensive" to go out there and clean everything up.

Very interesting; if the bugs are highly contageous however, why doesn't her husband have them too? It's also interesting that every victim on the program is female. While women are more prone to microscopic infections, (sorry ladies), due to PH changes and hormonal fluctuations, I've never heard of them being more prone to infestations such as lice, bedbugs etc. This would lead me to wonder just what kind of host environment the bugs need and if the environment can be changed to be less hospitable to them.

First i was horrified and disqusted and then angered...wonderful thread.

There are recycling programs for the plastics 4 and 5 ( which are not recycled by normal means) those are like yogurt cups. You just have to search them out. A wonderful show called Living Fresh with Sarah Snow is all about going green and she gives great tips for the beginner and long time greenies. Worth checking out.

Brilliant. The world is saved from parasitic infestions...at least the non-tropical climbs.

Wow meth bugs. Now that's a picture I wish I'd never seen.

Just judging by the 'faces of meth' commercials, that's a pretty extreme example. Mostly tweakers just have lots of scabs, but I guess that woman was really intense.

I've seen some pretty bad shit around here. My less than 36 hour stay in detox was enough to scare me straight and I'm only a boozer.
