After three plus years I have finally made the last payment on three different credit cards that I had let build up to painfully high levels. It is such a load off my mind knowing that I've finished with them.

Thank heavens for the debit card as thats all I use anymore.

I cut up all of my credit cards except for this last one which will stay around for emergencies.

Credit cards can be so handy, but so tempting at the same time.

Stick with the debit cards kiddies!

I now only keep two cards, ones a Visa, just damn well accepted everywhere!
The other an Amex, I have the blue card because they don't let you cary a balance.

CC's are probably the single biggest reason most people get into financial trouble!!

If people can't manage them, yeah, good idea to scrap them, I enjoy them for the extra (air miles and some good promotions)

A few years ago I finally paid off two visa and a couple of store credit card debts. Once that was accomplished, and with the advent of check cards from the banks, I swore to never fall into the credit trap again. Do yourself a favor. Pay them off, cut them up, and never look back.
