I was thinking about just being a smite cleric, should I up my wisdom and aura?

Another thing, I read that all I need is 1 brawl/shield for a bit to get the defense bonus is that true?

Any tips would be nice, if sword/board is a good choice to stick with can I get some training plans?

Thanks in advance!

1 rank of shield and brawl activates them defensively, from there you get 0.6 DS per rank in guarded stance for either of the skills. The more offensive your stance is the more it tips in favor of shield skill.

Your DS should be fine with spells and magical shields with 1 rank in each for some time (cause really, the extra 12 DS at lvl 10 for all of those TPs can likely be made up by getting defensive spells you wouldn't have had).

I would recommend keeping shield at 1 rank, and brawling at 1x, pick up a fist scythe or voln fu and you have a decent mana free "finishing move" for creatures you've signficantly wounded but don't want to waste the extra mana (or you're OOM) to just do that little extra damage.

should I over train in cleric spells?

Seems to be the in thing to do... balance that between picking up good utility/defensive spells in the spirit circles.

Currently your WIS will cap at level 69, depending on how long you plan to play this character, that might be a bit too much planning ahead.

Well, couldn't I just get a stat potion?
does it really matter if I max stats out?

Two handed versus sword and board with a cleric is better IMO. But I rather get the raw damage and kill than have even more DS.

Exactly why you would want your WIS stat higher now, because currently it's going to max at 69... that's way too much thinking ahead considering your ADD (no offense). You'll be more powerful now and have more TPs to use with a higher WIS in your early levels, and if you decide to cap this character you can get a stat potion if you wish to raise whatever stats didn't get maxed by raising WIS now.
